I need an airbrush system to better apply dyes and coatings for my holsters. I have struggled with getting good consistency applyind dyes. I want to spray them on. Then I can also do sunburst type dyeing. Spraying the finish on should give me a much smoother, streak free finish. Less fingerprints, applicator marks etc.

I have been checking them out on Amazon, but I since I have ZERO experience with airbrushes, I come here for your advice.

If you have one you like and can post a link that would be great.

I bought mine at Tandy Leather years ago. The compressor was a Sprayit model 600 and Paasche H or HS airbrush. Worked great on my leather projects and I also used it for some airbrush art work I learned when I took Tandy's airbrush classes.

I have a Paasche double action that I really like. I started with a single action but quickly realized I could get better results with the double action. Although, the single action might work just fine for your intended purpose.

I have the $22 (on sale) Harbor Freight, and I run it with a pressure regulator and dryer off of my big compressor.

Playing around with Cerakote, painting a helmet, etc.

Thus far, I am really happy with it. It's very easy to get a decent coat on things. My wife's mother (professional artist) taught me a little bit of airbrushing before she passed, and it is harder to run than her ~$3000 one (and I suck compared to her), but for what I want to do, it's great.

I think I have a Paasche VL and it was easy to use. This looks like a good setup.

I have this one and run it off of a nitrogen bottle. Very sweet airbrush. The extra air regulation built in to the airbrush, allows for some nice fine tuning.
