Jason Hanauska, coach of a girls basketball team with Rogers Area Youth Basketball Association (RAYBA), found out late last week that his team was getting kicked out of the Northwest Suburban Basketball League because his girls were deemed “too talented,” and were apparently dominating their peers.
The Northwest Suburban Basketball League has decided RAYBA does not fit into the league. The main reason they made this decision is because other teams do not want to play RAYBA due to the skill level.
As an aside, the CBS Local site in Minnesota linked to Uproxx instead of the source article at Fox 9. God forbid CBS admit it was digging up news from Fox ...

Hopefully they left their participation trophies on the table and walked out.

The league obviously has no tolerance for flashing gang signs
So, the other teams don't have to work harder to get better, they just boot the good team out of the league.
Good job, now they all suck.

That's the "progreSSive" way... which is obviously regressive- but you can pretty much count on reality being the opposite of what they tell you.
In other news, the NFL has expelled the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers as the other teams didn't want to play teams that beat them. [Sarcasm2]
Seriously, nothing ruins kids sports more than over involved parents. Get your kid a ball, glove, bat and kick them out of the house during decent weather. If they enjoy it and they are good, they will play in a league. If they are really good and they enjoy it they can play on a traveling team. At that point, the parents need to car pool the kids to games. IMO, it is so much more fun to watch little league games rather than professional sports. But I'm cheap that way.

Maybe the team needs to go pro... or they can compete in the Olympics, I hear the standards have changed.

Around here most leagues have different divisions based on skill level. If a team is dominating in a division they get moved up.

Indeed.
Life is no longer about applying yourself and doing the best you can.
Apparently life is about being a victim and using the government/administration to make things "fair".
Losers and weenies.

Pretty amazing what progressive "thought" has brought to this country.
Yup, a nation of wimps that'll stand and watch while ISIS rapes their families, then they'll cry for the government never realizing that even the almighty government cannot be everywhere at once.
Way to go democrats, you'll be the first in line for the graveyard when ISIS makes its move, and you democrats will deserve it because you brought it upon yourselves.
Of course a bunch of good guys will die trying to help these pathetic loser dems.

Indeed. Part of me wonders if this is a sandbagging team, and that part went unreported.

It started with kids being told their parents hitting them was child abuse.
Throw in the D.A.R.E program. How it's more important knowing how to apply a condom than adding (CORRECTLY) 2+2.
How competitiveness in anything was WRONG, everyone gets a trophy.
ALLOWING ANY educator to preach their beliefs during school hours, YET firing a teacher for working at hooters as that doesn't send the right message to students.
While forgetting they teach one how same sex is acceptable (TO 8TH GRADERS)
On & on. Rome has been burning while educators and legislators argue, over who is better suited to lead it's students and country. Down the Shitter.

I wouldn't think they'd be perceived as dominating if they were sandbagging.

Meaning, if they really SHOULD be playing a level or 2 up. Basically, travel kids playing the rec. A 4.5 tennis player in the 3.0s. A Cat 2 racing with the 5s. That sort of thing. One or two levels out of place and you can easily dominate.

We had a team in our league when I was in middle school that recruited the best kids in the city and then played in the lowest level rec league. They were beating teams frequently by 100+ points. It sounds like some of you guys think that would be just fine, and that's really unfortunate.
Now I don't know if this is the case with this team or not, but if it is the case then I don't blame the other coaches for not wanting to play that team. Being a really good team is one thing, but purposefully putting together an all-star team and then playing way below the correct talent level just so you can win by 100 points every game isn't sporting in the least.
And also, since when is that a gang sign?

I'd be disappointed as a player on that team.

In use for at least 40 years to denote an "Eastland" faction of the Crips gang. Almost any hand "signal" is a mark-ation of some sort of delinquent wanna-be's these days. I feel sorry for all the ASL folks (American Sign Language users).

There was an old cartoon, Reboot, about beings that lived inside your computer. In one episode, Enzo (think about the equivalent of a 12-year-old boy) tells the System Clock that he wants to be 50% smarter than everyone. The clock asks if he wants to be smarter now, or later. He chooses now.
Shortly thereafter, he realizes: "I didn't make myself any smarter, I made everyone else DUMBER!"
