Read about it in the buyer Intell section, but I'm only familiar w their food service warehouse. Where is the walk in locating and do you need any restaurant credentials or anything special to buy there ?

Yes you do, they require cash or credit card. Walk in browse items of interest, throw in cart, check out.

They have some good prices for those not a member of Sam's or Costco.
HOWEVER items like Red bell peppers. You can get them cheaper when Kings or safeway (soon to be albertsons) in some areas, has 10 for $10.
They all come from mexico .

Thanks !! How's their boneless skinless chicken boobs compare w costco ? Price wise. Just curious.
Somewhere saved in a years old bookmark folder is instructions on item numbers and places to get good old fashioned shitty school cafeteria pizza and other deliscious items not sold in stores. Might be worth a trip to see if shamrock carries em. (Somewhere I have the low down on a lot of fast food products such as Good Times seasoned fries)

I like peppers, but not at $1/each. Hell, I made a pasta salad the other day and ONE medium-sized tomato (I think it was a hot house, is that the rolls royce of tomatos or something?) cost $2.69. Not doing that again. I need to start paying attention to weekend Farmers' markets more (when the ground isn't covered w/ snow). If I'm going to pay ridiculous prices, I'd rather it go to families, not huge industrials.

Shamrock is a little cheaper than costco on the boneless skinless, and quality is good, but you have to buy 40 pounds at a time from shamrock, and it comes bulk packed in one large bag, not individually wrapped. A food saver + lots of freezer space is pretty much required.

This. If you have a freezer, it can be the way to go. Watch the weekly specials and you can score some pretty good deals. Just be prepared to repackage as all their products are sized for restaurants. Some of the meat items are frozen, which can hamper your repackaging. I picked up a case of chicken wings (40lb) and had to wait a day and a half until it was thawed enough to bust apart and re-bag.
Watching the weekly deals is only frustrating when you are getting started as they don't seem to offer what you want right then. Once you have done a few purchases, you are already eating off what is in the freezer and realize it is a good thing the deals are a bit sparse because you need to eat through some of what you already have to make room for more.
Like all stores, they sell some stuff on sales to get you in the door and bump up prices on other things you might buy because you were there anyway. Watch your prices.

I have a foodsaver I rarely use. And a ton of bags, so the repackaging of the chicken is not a problem. I'm not a fan of the costco chicken breasts. They are way to big on one end, and super thin on the other. Some of them are gigantic too. They have their special thin cut ones, bit those too are very inconsistent. We eat a lot of bird, so 40# isn't too much. I'm a familiar with how things are packaged. I was a sales person for U.S food service for 6 years. Back then it was Alliant foodservice. Going to take the wife and 10yr old boy to shamrock for a field trip on Saturday ! The kid loves grocery shopping in new places and really likes bulk/warehouse places.
Thals for for the tips and pretty excited to check the place out. Yea, I'm a pretty simple guy to entertain.

kids will have fun. Three BIG doorless walk in coolers. Lots of oddball restaurant supplies you don't commonly see elsewhere.

That will change here soon enough. I split chicken breast length and width wise. Use thicker end for various recipes, the thin side for cutlets, fajita's and a killer lemon chicken. That's when i remember to add broth to the lemon base. if not one ends up with something from a horror movie stuck on the spoon like it morphed out of the plastic.

Restaurant Depot is awesome too if you know a business owner or have a sales tax license.

Sign up is easy online, and it's free so can't beat it. I mean where else can you buy a whole goat, gallons of hot sauce and a new griddle? LOL

I use Restaurant Depot too. The denver location is right by my work. Been very happy with their selection and prices.
Sysco food used to have a location somewheres near south Broadway Many years ago. You could buy 5 gallons of mayo and coffee cups . I think they moved up north. And I want to pile on to the Costco chicken rant. I pulled on out last night that was easily a pound and a half. Not natural.

That price was for a 40# box. Fresh, not frozen. Breast size is "random". We opted to get the 15# box of frozen boobies too They are very consistent in size and thickness. Which is what I was after. Price was $33 for the box. With the costco breasts, some of them look like they came off of a condor they are so huge. Got tired of dealing with that.

Better be careful .... That hen may have made a road trip to Vegas to see a plastic surgeon. Might end up with a mouthful of silicone goo !!!
