What a bummer.

I'm surprised it took them this long. There was a group I had joined that had close to 17k members.

Largest social media site eh? Looks like I'll have to start seeking guns on YouTube.

Sucks for sure but can't say I didn't see it coming. Since liberals seem to run pretty much every source of internet based media it's only a matter of time until all gun sales are banned on the internet.

Love it or hate it FB has been a great source for (legally) buying and selling firearms for me. You get to see who you are dealing with, no anonymous emails or BS.

I don't have a Facebook and I didn't know you could buy guns or I would have gotten an account. Oh well looks like I'll be an outcast still since I have no reason to join now.

What about all the girls from high school contacting you and starting trouble with your wife? Surely that will entice you to join.

Not yet. Colorado gun trader page is still up. Instead of selling guns, just sell sporting equipment!

It's great for an evenings entertainment. Just find an old friend from where you grew up, view their friend list, people change, and see how many bullets you dodged. I feel like I've dodged more than that Matrix character.

There was a facebook loophole ????

Apprrently it was a free pass to by-pass BGC for interstate sales, mandatory sales, and even some licensed sellers BGC....
63783

Edit: in the article I read they used the word "Circumvent" they circumvented the BGC laws, which is one of those things... What do they call them? You know, when you blatantly don't follow the law? Undocumented! They were undocumented sales.

No shit. So annoying. Facebook is whatever you make of it. Don't like liberals? Don't be one. Accidentally friend a liberal who spews leftist bullshit regularly? Unfriend or unfollow them if you don't feel like educating them. Problem solved.

I didn't even know Facebook was a hotspot for selling firearms. Wish I had known sooner!

Facebook and Twitter are two of the worst things to happen to the Internet. It amazes me that so many people are willing to give up their privacy and control over their own photos or data in exchange for what amounts to a "free" webpage.

I prefer to restrict my Facebook comments to how much it sucks and how I will never use it. That's the great thing about a free society. People are free to like Facebook, I'm free to express my opinion about what a horrible place/thing it is. Everybody wins.

I did think the Mtn Dew thing was funny, though.

I know many don't like FB and I have a love hate relationship with it myself. But there is a bigger picture here. FB today, Armslist tomorrow, then gun forums, where does it stop? This is just another little chip away at our freedoms and we should all be concerned.

Bailey Guns
01-30-2016, 21:17
Yeah...I don't think Armslist is gonna ban the sale of guns. Sorry, but FB's idiotic policy has absolutely nothing to do with freedom.

But what if the liberals hosting the servers decide they no longer want to be a part of gun sales???? Or the host servers of this site? Just another compromise, and another, and another.

Bailey Guns
01-30-2016, 21:28
Then take your business to one of the thousands of online retailers that will happily take your money. I'm failing to see the logic of a site dedicated to the sale of guns, legally, between individuals, banning the sale of guns.

Now, if the government came along and said, "no more internet gun sales", that would be a different story.

Nope. More like A.J. is a credible source for anything.

Same answer I give to liberals who pushed smoking bans in restaurants/bars: it's a business opportunity. The number of people who can't stand the smell of second-hand smoke are an opportunity for someone to open a good restaurant that is VOLUNTARILY non-smoking. The number of people who want websites and online services related to firearms are an opportunity for someone else if Amazon or Google or whoever decide they don't want to host sites associated with shooting.

Well, I just posted a gun for sale on the Colorado guns for sale page. It was approved by the moderator of the site about an hour ago. No statement yet from them about private parties not being able to sell guns there. Same rules as the Trading Post on this forum.

I have had a facebook account since maybe 2005? I have great fun going after the anti-gun posts, never lost a argument and even have a couple of converts there.

Where did they move to? Not that I've ever entertained buying. Some folks have unrealistic expectations on pricing.

It's a need to know thing and since you don't ever plan on buying you don't need to know.
