Thanks Austin looking forward to it! How many slots available? I think I read 24 somewhere still correct?
I believe it is 36 slots!

I'm in for all three! As of 1753 today there were 17 or so slots of 36 taken for the June match. No itel on the CD site about July and August, but you can register for those now as well.
AA, Thanks for starting this "official" thread, since it looks like you the AMD. Nice to see you step up to management!

With a cap of 36 shooters. Me and a couple unregistered buddies drive 5hrs, just before we get there the cap is met. You going to turn us away?
Why not have the distances known?
Will there be a pay out?

I think KD is a good idea too. Saves a bunch of time on game day.

Austin,
On the subject of "Short-action semi-auto (i.e. AR-15) division"... I'm assuming a .223/5.56 chambered AR is suitable? My 77gr load makes 3000 FPS out of the AR I would use. Will this be allowable? The equipment rules currently posted seem to mirror the standard bolt gun match rules with the 6mm minimum. Is this the intended rule set or was this an oversight not including info on the AR-15 division?
Thanks
ADDITIONAL - I emailed Zak when I posted this as well. Here's his response for those interested in shooting an AR-15:
Yes, that was the intention. It was just an oversight that the rules
were not updated further down the page. Rifles 6 - .300WM, carbines
.223 minimum up to anything you can shoot in a short-action/AR-15, but
not exceeding 3200 fps

ANSWERS:
June is up to 24 and July and August currently have 7 and 9.
We have them listed with a 36 shooter max for right now. Consider this a "soft limit" at this time, although it might become a hard limit closer to the events. We wanted to keep the first match's attendance somewhat limit just so that we could feel out the new format at this venue and make sure it's wrapped up and people can get on the road at a reasonable time. We'll have more data about how many the format can ultimately support after that first match.
If all slots are booked and you have not pre-registered, then yes, you might be turned away if you show up the day of. If you want a guaranteed slot, then pre-register. That's kind of the whole point. Pre-registration and a cap gives us a solid count of shooters which in turn permits us to plan and allocate resources to ensure the match goes smoothly and on time.
The format of the match will be roughly similar to the NRAWC Sporting Rifle Match. In other words, there will be small squads. The targets will not be surprise; each squad will have a short amount of time to locate and range them. That means it's KD with respect to the shooting part. We might have a cheat sheet available for squad captains, but remember you guys still have to find the targets so it's not going to save a lot of time.
