Cleaning painted parts

The kid shot a rifle with some Arevoe spray paint. Now he's trying to get it off and not having much luck. I tried the brake cleaner with a rough cotton cloth, and then a worn Chore Boy pad and barely broke through the paint with some pretty good scrubbing.
What's the next step while hopefully not damaging the original finish, Acetone? Gasoline?

What is the original finish and material?

Wood stock? Plastic stock? Blued steel? Annodized aluminum?

He shot his AR and now is trying to clean up parts of it. I started with the B5 sopmod stock (plastic) and the Aimpoint (Anodized aluminum?) I didn't go any further. Brakeleen would strip off the Krylon but would hardly put a dent in the Aervoe.

Carb cleaner (Gumout, not the cheap store brand) will remove it from metal, but probably isn't safe for the plastic parts.

Copper remover with a soft metal cleaning brush worked on some stubborn paint a few years ago on an AR I bought.

I've always used lacquer thinner with good results. I put it in a pan and stick the parts in it and scrub with a tooth brush.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. Haven't gotten back to the parts yet, but I'll report back on what works.

Picked up some Acetone because I couldn't find any Gumout at Walmart last night, was only in the mood for one stop on the way home. The Acetone surprisingly didn't really do much to the metal anodized parts painted with the Aervoe paint. Sill had to do a lot of scrubbing with a toothbrush and that paint really sticks in between the knurled ridges on some scope knob covers and to the Sopmod stock. I let the metal parts soak but it ate through my plastic pan, I need to find a glass jar to let parts soak in. Really didn't make much progress.

What does the google or the paint venndor say? Can't do a google search right now. Aervoe has a paint remover listed on their site, it might be what is needed?
