Night Force Precision Tactical 2 rifle match, NRA Whittington Center, 26-28 August

Basically the same as the 2 rifle matches we have been doing here, but a 2 day, 10 stage match. friday sight-in and register, saturday 0700 shooters brief, saturday after shooting BBQ at the shotgun range, sunday shoot and awards in the afternoon.

For those of us unfamiliar with your prior 2 rifle matches, can you give us a brief rundown of what to expect? Is it practical rifle/precision rifle?

Thanks Hoser, I was wondering where that thread was...

The format could be just about anything...

but basic stuff you would see for action rifle shooting with the AR, and basic stuff you would see with precision shooting, all mixed together into one stage, 10 stage match.

Normally a 5 minute par time.

10 AR targets from close IPSC paper to long range steel 400 yards.

5 PR targets 200-1000 yards, 2 rounds each max, 1st round hit 2 points, 2nd round hit 1 point, no penalties for misses.

unlimited rounds may be shot at AR targets, PR 10 rounds max per stage.

You could be required to start with either rifle, with some movement usually with the AR, but could be carrying the PR to a position while engaging AR targets.

you may be ranging on the clock for a couple stages...and you may have a blind stage or 2.

Next 2 rifle match is Sunday 24 July. 5 stages in Coal Canyon. Saturday the 23rd is a 4 stage 3 gun match on the,main side of the Whittington Center.
