I just finished watching Octopussy and every time I see it it gets lamer.
So what is your favorite Bond film and which one do you think is the worst? My favorite is probably Thunderball but I really liked Casino Royale.

I agree Sean Connery defined the character and was believable as a tough guy, Roger Moore could never convince me that he could be that tough and as he got older it got more pathetic.

I haven't seen any of the Roger Moore or Sean Connery Bond films since I was in grade school and my grandmother would rent them for me over the weekend from Blockbuster, so I can't honestly list any of those. I will say that either Brosnan's Die Another Day or Craig's Spectre were the worst that I can remember.
Both had the same problem of trying to mix a more severe and dark Bond with stupid one-liners, unimaginative sex scenes, and cheesy action tropes. Bond as a character works in both Fleming's novels and films as a tortured misanthrope. The pageantry just bores me.

Worst: Daniel Craig
Best: Sean Connery
Agreed. The Daniel Craig movies are by far the worst ones, they took away everything that made them Bond.
Golden Eye has to be in the running for best Bond movie as well.
I couldn't stand Brosnan as Bond. Writing was really poor for those films and tried to make up for it with gadgetry. When Bond has a gun to the bad guy's head and is not getting the answer he wants, rotating the Walther gangsta' style means he's really serious? [Puke]
I'd have to rank George Lazenby over Brosnan and Dalton.
Roger Moore was a clown in my opinion.

Best- newer ones with Daniel Craig
worst- ones with Pierce Brosnan
Best-From Russia With Love (Casino Royale with Craig a close second)
Worst-any with Moore, Dalton, Bronson and Quantum of Solice.
I know some dislike Craig but in CR he came the closest to how Fleming wrote Bond adjusting for modern times.

Agreed on the actors. Can't hardly watch Craig, looks like a Mafiosa to me, worst of any of them.
Films, Goldfinger, On her Majestys secret service, Diamonds are forever
Worst: Daniel Craig
Best: Sean Connery

Has anyone seen Spectre? Boring beyond belief.
Everything is based on a computer program now adays. No more space stations and sharks with lasers.....

The one that will always be dearest to my heart is "The Spy Who Loved Me". Because I was 13 and Lotus Submersibles and Barbara Bach, who is part of the reason my glasses are so thick today.
The worst I've ever watched of all of them has to be "The World Is Not Enough". I dislike it so much I'd rather watch "Quantum of Solace".

TWINE is definitely piss-poor. The worst part is how wasted the villain was. Renard couldn't feel pain and was a highly-trained, ex-KGB badass. Totally underwhelming usage.
And of course, there's the usual non-sense like helicopters with 30 foot saws attached and car rockets. Yuck.
Worst - all of them
Best - still waiting
All joking aside. I just never got into the Bond movies. I find them all boring.
Spectre was a little policatly charged for me , really liked Skyfall though. Vintage bond love Dr No.

Although most dont like Goldeneye, I do. When Goldeneye came out on the N64 when I was 10, I loved the game which is why the movie holds a special place in my heart.

Best: Goldfinger or Thunderball
Worst: A View to a Kill
I detest Daniel Craig as Bond but his films have had spectacular scripts, co-stars, and direction. Timothy Dalton probably would have gone on for another film or two if he'd gotten the quality scripts and co-stars that Craig has had (instead of a villain with the worst fake Russian accent ever). Daniel Craig got Eva Green and Pierce Brosnan got ... Denise Richards trying to play a nuclear physicist. Yeah, right.
The ones I like the most in no particular order: From Russia with Love, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye, and Casino Royale
The ones that are too dumb and painful to watch: Moonraker and License to Kill
The one I just can't manage to stay awake no mater how hard I try: Dr. No, I want to like it but it just bores me to tears.
Always likes Goldfinger as a kid.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service, always had a thing for Diana Rigg.
Connery and Moore are my favorite Bonds.

Oh yeah. I watched a lot of The Avengers as a kid and that Emma Peel was easy on the eyes.
Connery and Moore...but who's this guy?

George Lazenby. The most short-lived Bond ever. Supposedly he only ever wanted to do the one film but I wonder how the audience reaction played into that. As I've gotten older, I've appreciated "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" more and more but it was often viewed as "the worst Bond film ever", probably due to the slower pace. I've grown to really like the wit in the movie, Diana Rigg's Theresa, Savalas' Blofeld, and of course Louis Armstrong's rendition of "We Have All The Time in the World".
Best Bond film? Goldeneye
Worst? Spectre
Best: Connery, Connery, Connery.
Worst: It's hard to say. I haven't seen all of the Bond movies, but the action sequences in the Daniel Craig movies were pretty compelling. One of the things I've found about the newest generation of Bond movies is that they seem to try to be "Mission Impossible" movies- inscrutable and convoluted plotlines, action for action's sake, and yawnish sex scenes.

George Lazenby On Her Majesty's Secret Service was the "best" Bond in terms of most like Ian Fleming's books.
Daniel Craig does a good job for the Ian Fleming "Bonds". Good action movies but not my favorite for the "classic" movie 007 character.
