Context:
Remember when one of the major news networks decided to show how being armed wouldn't help in an active shooter scenario? They took people with zero shooting experience, and pitted them against a SWAT team member, to show that being armed was "useless" in that scenario.
It was a bogus exercise, and anyone with any sense knew that.
Well, a TV station in Texas decided to try the same thing, with four people who have concealed carry permits. None of them had a tremendous amount of training (one had a whopping six hours of training)....but the results were far different.
This scenario is MUCH more representative of what might happen.
I do, however, take issue with two very important factors.
First, the odds of an active shooter having 22 years of LE experience, to include being an active member of a SWAT team are...well, zero. It has never happened.
The vast majority of these mass murderers are nerdy kids with no real firearms experience. Their tactics suck...they have no clue how to effectively engage anyone but helpless victims.
Second, the continued engagement by the active shooter when they encounter any sort of armed response. The vast majority of these mass murderers are utter cowards, and either give up, or kill themselves when they encounter any armed resistance. That did not happen in these videos.
Even though the methodology was a bit flawed....this TV station proved something VERY important. They proved that being armed during an active shooter scenario WILL stop the bad guy, thereby saving lives.
Watch the video, then share it on facebook, etc.
I wish I saw stuff like this on TV around here...

The main video to watch is a few paragraphs down from the "SCENARIO # 1: Busy office space" headline
