I thought we had like 10 people from my wife's family coming over and apparently they've all just canceled. Now, do I still smoke the 5lbs of wings and make the pork tenderloin or just say fuck it and get hammered now. ;-).

Turned on the telly to catch LG doing the anthem.

While i am not a fan of her music i will say . Between the Christmas commercial with her & Tony Bennet, Baby it's Cold Outside. AND now the National Anthem. Have to say, she has my respect. Great Vocals, hit it out of the park.

knew i forgot something [facepalm]

Fuck the family. Cook the food up and enjoy.

Regarding Gaga, with how many "singer" have cocked up the National Anthem in the past many years, I have to agree with GZ, Lady Gaga did pretty well. She looked like the ghosts is the second Matrix or she is off to interview some Hunger Game contestants.

For the OP eat the wings, drink the booze and call in sick tomorrow.

Half time show is pretty lame IMO.

Lady Gaga rendition of anthem was better than most.

ETA: Any idea while they cancelled?

You should cook up the food and enjoy it yourself, take some pix and let those jerks know what they're missing. Pretty lame to get stood up for a Super Bowl party.

I'm no fan of GaGa but I thought she did very well on the Anthem, she can sing that's for sure.

Someone should tell the Broncos the idea is to move the ball down the field and score.

I'm not a sports fan at all, but I've noticed that the Broncos are "playing it safe". The problem with playing it safe is you don't score amd when the other team turns the tables you're hosed!

At least we were able to score from the 4.... with a 2nd set of downs. Might have this one in the bag.

I've watched teams make 2 touchdowns in the last 2 minutes of the game. Had the Broncos kicked for an extra point in the last TD, that would leave them 1 pt short if The Panthers actually pulled off 2 TD's. At least now it would be tied in that circumstance.

But yeah, I think Denver has the game.

If you don't "play it safe" with the Panthers and they WILL take advantage of it, Denver made the right choice (obviously).

Carolina was too worried about their dance routines all week... Cam was the only one who went to practice. Nice job Denver defense. Glad Von Miller got the mvp, him or ware deserved it

Great job Broncos! I honestly wish they would have let Peyton throw the ball more instead of run twice me throw a short pass then punt. A wins a win, but it would have been fun to at least let the man run his own offense on the last possession,

Yeah, a run on 4th and 17 is mind boggling to me, but then again I'm just a watcher of the game.

Don't think he talked any crap, but walking off the stage while being interviewed by the sports media is childish and unprofessional IMO.

Probably just a very disappointed young man who will hopefully gain wisdom as he grows older. Now I just have to find a way to get Peyton to sign my Manning Jersey.

Saw it on the tv at the tie place I'm sitting at. They are talking about how is not the end of the world (it's certainly not), and to give him a break because he's young. Him being young is a complete and total cop out.

Just wait....................Some where, someone will write an article how ATTACKING CAM NEWTON was nothing but a veiled form of racism.
Would the media bash his loosing in such manner, if it wasn't?

Of course they would. They would poke fun, rake him over the coals no matter what color he is.

I'm already tired of hearing about how Cam Newton is young, to give him a break. He's a grown ass man, hell he's like 26 or something.

Sounds like the Denver post-game press conference could be heard from the Carolina side. While I don't condone how he left the podium, I won't hold it against him.

On a side note, one of the guys I watched the game with went to college with Newton and had his laptop stolen by him.

I turned to the Super Bowl with about 10 minutes of game time left. From what I could tell, I hadn't missed anything, even the commercials sucked and I had absolutely no interest in the advertised half-time show. Hell, the best commercial of the night (IMO) wasn't even in the Super Bowl proper, it was James Corden's spoof of Cindy Crawford's Pepsi commercial from 1992. That was funny as hell and Pepsi should have thought of that themselves.

More from Lady Gaga

No matter what you go through, the same as our country, that metaphor of ‘but the flag was still there’ is so powerful for me every time,” said Gaga. “I’m really singing it from the heart and I’m also singing it very true to the way it was written because that’s when I think it sounds its most majestic. There’s no greater honor than standing next to the Color Guard, the Flag, the Army and the Military and singing the National Anthem.
