Anybody have first-hand experience with these?
I just had MHSA chamber one for me in 6mm Creedmoor, and install in on my AIAE MKII.
I got it for the weight savings, and I've heard they're accurate, but only from Lowlight over on the Hide. The CF sure looks cool!
My new 24" barrel weighs 3#, compared to 6.5# on the 26" Krieger I had been running. It's quite noticable, and my whole rig has gone from 19.5# down to 16# - no longer a burden to carry!

Don't have one personally. I would though. Have a buddy that has one on a gas gun he shot in precision rifle comps last season, he was very competitive. He never noticed a poi shift during any of the more hectic firing schedule stages. Frank Galli did a quick vid segment last year and had the same results. He's known for not having a paid opinion.
First 14 rounds with left over ammo from the last barrel . 4 rds to get close on paper shooting at a spot in the dirt and then 2 5 shot groups at 1/2 MOA at 200 .
Fritz done good again .
Ended up at 15.8 lbs all up with sling , can , bipod , and no ammo .

Good news! I need to load up some ammo for mine and get out to the CRC for some testing, and then I'll post some results up here.

My buddy just got a Proof Research AR barrel as a gift from his brother in law (who happens to work there). Very pretty. Now he has to figure out how to build it up!
BTW: if anyone has any problems with a Proof Research product (doubtful), let me know and I'll get you in touch with the guy who can make it right.
I picked one up for a 6.5 build, should make it up to Adam and Fritz this weekend. Not gonna go crazy trying to scape OZ. but want a lighter weight build so using a Surgeon 591, Proof 22" barrel, and a Elite Tactical T4 (no mini chassis on this one). Right now with a complete action and trigger and the barrel blank it weighs 5lb 4oz. Can't wait!
I just got my 6.5 creedmoor ruger precision prefit in the mail today and was not impressed. The chamber looks like it was cut with a dull reamer - has radial gouges in several spots. Plus there looks to be a crack longitudinally from the neck into the shoulder area. For the amount of money these cost, not exactly sold on it. I'll give them a call and find out what can be done. QC is and big deal to me when I buy something that holds in small explosions. If you get one I would check the chamber carefully.

That's a real bummer. Was it a prefit/prechamber directly from Proof or a 3rd party. We have a smith friend that recommends the Proof SS barrels. He said they had the least run-out he had encountered. These are blanks and unchambered, but the QC is there.
It was a prefit. I called up Proof to see what they could do. They have excellent customer support. They want the barrel back to see what went wrong and they are going to get a new one sent out once they have a batch done. Only 3-4 week wait so not too bad. I have not been able to shoot the barrel obviously but just based on customer support alone, I am impressed would recommend them if you were looking for something new to put on your gun.
I have used them quite a bit, never had any issues.
Talking to Monty it seems that it was just one that possibly got overlooked in QC. They are making it right and once I get it all dialed in I'm sure to be a lifelong customer. Almost 1/2 the weight of a conventional barrel really can't be beat.
