Sunday afternoon, a custom "Bowie" knife was stolen from a truck in Nederland. Hammer forged blade 8"-10", rosewood handle and brass/copper rivets on he sheath.

This town is starting to get a lot of petty/stupid crimes.

The garbage I saw hanging out in front of the local market not long ago, this does not surprise me. Shitty none the less, and I'm sorry to hear, I hope the knife is found.

ETA: It's very unfortunate, as Nederland is such a cool little town. Why the garbage has flocked there, I'll never know.

Sorry to hear that. Knives are so personal, especially the custom ones.

I'm no detective but I'd guess some pot head figured he could sell it and buy more pot.

Sorry to hear about the theft. I'll keep my ears open but I'm not exactly a big knife trader around here.

Ned is a cool, unique little town, but I'm happy that I live outside of walking distance for the hippies. Every time I drive to/from town there's some sketchy looking dude with his thumb out. The transients...the summer squatters fucking up the forest...the drugs...shoplifting, etc....liberals are awesome. Feel the Bern!

My family has had a place in Ned since 1953. Family also has places and property in Toland. I have been going to Nederland all my life. It has always been a hippy town. Now, the real dirt bag hippies are there. The vagrants are gathering in force. Many hippie camps of dozens of dirtbags are setting up their camps in the woods in the summer. Petty crime is bound to happen. Sucks. I remember when the Dam Liquor store was the only place to get some beer and the Pioneer Inn was the only bar. Grocery store was where the gas station is now. It was a tiny grocery store that had limited offerings. Was awesome as a kid to walk there with my dollar and load up on candy. The good ol days..... and I'm only 48yrs old.
I still ride my motorcycle there about every Friday when the weather is nice and tour around on the dirt roads. I had not been up to caribou in about 10 years. Simply blew my mind how many homes and roads there are on the way there now. Used to be just the main dirt road. Went from Nederland to the top, then turn right to access some jeep trails. A recluse of a man with a dog named Termite lived up over the top of the hill back when I was in college. Man did that guy have some stories. !!! Shared may a beer with him. Again, the good ol days.

When the weather is nice, drop me a line. The first beer, at the PI, is on me.

I see it as another gold rush. Sadly, it's people with no clue of what they are getting into. Literally people with an IQ of room temperature, who watched a Youtube, trying to make bank.
