I don't wanna offend anyone for posting line of duty deaths. If you are offended I will tell you I am not sorry. I started a new thread for each death and will try to remember to do so with each one when they happen. I personally believe at the very least we can honor these officers by passing the word and giving them their own thread.

Did someone claim to be offended?
Edit: Seriously. In a PM or something? I'm certainly not trying to start any shit here.

No, it was a blanket statement.

I thought people might find it annoying that I would start a separate post for each death and I just wanted to point out why I did it instead of having a LODD thread.

I personally think you are doing a great service to honor the fallen. Thank you.

I'm hoping it wasn't my comments in your post about the Fargo officer. My statement about this sh!t needing to stop was not directed at you posting about the deaths of the officers, but rather the acts of the cowards that killed them. If that is the statement you are referring to, I apologize for not being clearer. You are doing a great service honoring them, and I in no way want you to stop doing so.

No, not in a PM either. I seriously thought people might get offended by me posting each notice individually, hence my blanket statement. It was not directed at anyone and no one that I know of has reported being offended. On the contrary, I have had a few PMs letting me know how supportive people are, which means a lot to me as a police officer.

I sent a PM back buddy. You absolutely weren't offensive and I took the wording as you intended, I believe.
Post away! You have my support!
FWIW, there are way, WAY too many officers being killed for just doing their jobs. It's appalling.

It is getting so crazy now, I just got off shift with a FTO office who is in the 39th year of service. She said back in the day she never thought about people trying to kill her, Now it is the 1st thought on every call........
I thought people might find it annoying...
I'm offended.
...that you might have thought that people might find it annoying. [Coffee]

I cannot believe how many people get upset when you pat them down or ask them to keep their hands out of their pockets or stand at a certain place for safety and the first thing they say is, "I'm not gonna hurt you." Like I know you. Women do it a lot and parents get upset when we do it to teens all the time.

I'll also point out in this thread that if anyone chooses to donate to any officer funeral or family make sure the source you are donating to is verified and legitimate. There have been lots of scammers taking advantage of that too, especially on the Go Fund Me sites.
I can only hope there is a very special hell for the scrofulous people that scam donations for fallen officers.

Right, they always say how "cold it is" and that's why their hands are in the pockets.

While true, as a teen I was on the receiving end of a westy lady giving me 20 questions in 5 degree weather in a parking lot and my glove less hands were freezing.

My response to that is easy. Please let me pat you down and you can put your hands in your pockets.
There are those that post up every time the CaC farts.
LEOs dying in the line of duty is actually relevant. Post away...wait, I hope you have no reason to post.

Myself, I'd like to see the postings all in one thread, instead of a thread for each fallen officer.

I'd like to see something from the White House, maybe a public statement of empathy for the families of the fallen officers and the effected communities. Maybe some famous singer can do a benefit show to raise money for the families? November can't get here fast enough.

Agreed. Either way it will become overwhelming and people will stop paying attention, which is unfortunately the opposite of what you are trying to achieve. However, all in one thread will make a larger impact when the thread is visited since everything will be all in one place, the scope of the issue will better present itself. That's just my opinion though.

I'm with this. And sadly, a combined thread will be on the first page of GD every day the way things are these days.

I thought it more appropriate to add a message in here rather than one of the fallen officer threads I made. Again I am doing it out of respect and believe that every fallen officer deserves individual respect for giving the ultimate sacrifice while on duty in the communities they serve. The Mods have not asked me to change what I am doing in any way so I will continue to go about doing it as respectful as possible. If the Mods ask me to do something different I will do it as it is their forum to run and I enjoy being a part of this site. I'm not opposed to questions whether in this thread or a PM. Please feel free.
Thank you for posting about each of these deaths
There is not enough news coverage. This forum seems like a good place to honor them.

I'm a bit taken back myself as to how many/often there are. (too many)
I appreciate what you're doing, even though it's incredibly depressing.
Thank you for posting them. I see some of them listed on FB groups, but there are some that I miss.
