Like the title says. Picked up the new PPQ M2 at the best LGS in the history of LGS's, Ark Tactical. I then went straight over to the range and put 270 rounds through it and I will say without a doubt that I now know what everyone has been talking about when it comes to the trigger. It must be the best polymer framed trigger in the business. The break is just incredible. But not as incredible as the reset. I've never seen a shorter reset on any gun, anywhere, of any type. Basically, as soon as you take the pressure off of the trigger, it resets. I never thought in a million years I would say this but as much as I love and respect my G19, I ALMOST like he Walther as much for range use, but only for range use at this point. It will take a long time before I decide how much I like and trust it but for now, it is super accurate, kick ass looking, and very fun to shoot.

I'm a fan of this pistol too.

The reset is very similar to a nice 1911 for me.

Congrats on your new acquisition! I'm particular to the PPQ Classic. The PPQ is a fantastic pistol. I've never had a malfunction of any type with mine and have put a large variety of loadings through it. When you get used to the reset, it's amazing how fast you can put follow-up shots on target.

Agreed, I had the opportunity to put a few mags through a Wilson CQB last summer and the reset on that was indeed very similar. I'm not highly schooled on 1911's so there may even be better triggers than something like that out there FAIK. Thanks for the comments guys.

Can anyone say how it compares to a M&P with the DCAEK kit in it?

The reset has to be better if they are talking about it.

Someone may be able to tell you the difference in triggers, but I was shopping for an M&P when I got the PPQ. The ergonomics of the PPQ fit me better. In other words, the differences go beyond the trigger.

I wish Walther would make the 5" PPQ and the PPQ .45 with the trigger guard mag release, but the focus seems to be on button mag releases as indicated by the recent release of the PPS M2.

I have the PPQ 9 and .40, both with the paddle mag release. I have no use for the button release personally. I think the ergonomics are excellent. The short reset can cause un-intentional double taps occasionally, under pressure.
I thought there was a 5" PPQ? It came out after I had both of mine, and not sufficient for me to bail on what I have and get one.

Neither of mine will shoot the aluminum cased Blazer stuff, that is the only thing they won't shoot, (failure to extract), and the Blazer shoots in ALL my other guns, so take that for what it's worth.
I would like to shoot the .45. Anyone? Anyone?

I went back and forth trying to decide between the PPQ and the VP9. I settled on the VP9 because I liked the trigger better. Personally, for my taste, I thought the PPQ trigger was a bit too light, I didn't like the way the break felt, and thought the reset was a bit too short for my liking.

That being said, I was kind of eyeballing that PPQ at Ark yesterday morning. Glad I didn't buy it and hope the new owner enjoys it.

There is, but only in the M2 configuration.

Interesting...I could put the 5" slide on my Classic frame...but then I'd have a M2 lower with no purpose. Pass, dang it.

Thanks a ton for not buying it!lol. I already am in love with it. I've never been a fan of light triggers on a combat handgun and I don't feel that my particular gun is too light by any means. It's averages on my gauge at 4.5lbs which is lighter than my other pistols but still very useable. It is really ergonomic without a doubt. That's weird about yours not shooting aluminum cases as mine shot them just fine. I shot brass, and aluminum without issue. I never shoot steel in my pistols though so I can't speak to that.

Okay, I shot both of my Walther PPQ's today. (9 and 40). The light/short reset trigger was conducive to many surprises shooting at plates. A LOT of un-intentional double taps. I could get used to it again, I guess. I haven't shot them in well over a month.
I'm thinking a little more weight on the trigger, and a bit more reset would fix that. Practice, too, would fix it. I shot my G19 second gen after that, and didn't have those issues, so apparently my body needs a bit more weight/reset to be comfortable. Or maybe practice? Yeah, could be that!

Has anyone shoot the PPQ M2 vs the HK VP9? They are both on my list for the next gun to pick up... But the HK seems to be calling my name if only because it's an HK.

I am a huge fan of both brands, and you're not going to go wrong with either one. My very first pistol was an H&P USP 45. I now own 5 Walther pistols. They just fit me perfectly. I am a fan of the paddle release, but I don't like the way Walther does theirs. All the M2's have button mag releases though. H&K have it just right. Love the triggers on the PPQs which is what first won me over.

Shoot both, and then decide.

And remember, there is a $100 rebate on most (but not all) Walther models right now. The PPQ M2 is included.

I've never used the paddle release, and had avoided it for years because I was shooting A LOT with the M&P and didn't want to swap over my technique. But now I hardly shoot much so swapping over to a paddle and ramping up my training would be pretty easy. My buddy has the PPQ M2 I can take to the range and rent a VP9 to compare it to.
