Turns out, many SentrySafe office safes can be opened with a magnet. Not good for securing your goods. [facepalm]
I should add: This applies to many safes that do not fall under the "Sentry" name brand as well.
Wow!
I always thought these were at best good for a few minutes of fire protection in the city but I had no idea they were that easy.

They very well may help with fire protection, but not so much for protecting against thievery.

Sentry's safes have always been garbage, cheap Chinese crap.
Anyone going to admit having one of these?

I have an old (combo) office safe sitting right next to me. Never use it as an overnight safe.

LOL, we used to trip the mechanisms in car washes and pop machines with a speaker magnet.
Will they issue refunds like eotech?????

Mine looks like this. Am I still vulnerable? ;)

That "CLOSED" sign is only keeping honest people honest.
At least you can't do that with a mechanical combo lock.

Thanks for the heads-up. Never did trust those bargain safes but I'm still astounded.

Those X-09 locks are the real deal and pricey as hell!
BTW most RSC (residential storage container) that have a UL rating only have to pass a 5 min tool attack.

Nice! Did you get it from http://www.govliquidation.com/ ?

No. When we shut down the building for my old office the FSO allowed a few of us to have a trophy - so to speak.

Ha, I've had many years experience with those. They are nice, until they do not work. Then it's a bitch to get fixed or replaced.

Nice. I was thinking of buying one from GovLiquidations when I was in Colorado Springs, but a good Liberty safe would have been cheaper. I've seen two X-09s get drilled. One was just a failure of the lock (which is really rare), but I'm pretty sure the other one was one of the newer guys trying to change the combo on it and he messed it up somehow. Both instances took a few hours from the start of the job to opening the safe, and it was very loud and very messy.
Open a safe in 5 seconds..... 6 minute video. ROFL

I admit that I have a safe, not a Sentry. That said, I'm not under any illusions about a safe being anything other than a delay for someone that really knows what they are doing.
