Bought a mini uzi from a guy whose dad used to be a SOT holder. Dad died, kid was supposed to keep the gun, but couldn't because he wasn't licensed. He's been great to deal with, told me a couple stories about his dad, etc. A real pleasure to talk to this guy, easy to work with, and they are not always like that. Long story short, I'd like to send him a small thank you gift that ideally would also be a good memory of his dad. Family guns are hard to let go of.

Thought about one of those xrayguns.com pictures of a mini uzi - something he could hang on a wall of a man cave. Or maybe a good bottle of bourbon or scotch or something. Thought I'd check to see if anyone had any good ideas. Didn't want to just call him up and ask what his dad used to drink, which would be awesome if I knew - I'd rather just send him out a gift that would be a surprise when it shows up.

Any ideas? Maybe $50-100.

Take him shooting... With the mini Uzi.

Then give him the print and a decent bottle of bourbon.

Good point - I offered, anytime he is in town of course. However, he lives on the East coast, so it makes it more tough. Should have mentioned that.

Anybody have a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle sitting around?

You said good bottle, not the most expensive bottle around.

Pappy 15 isn't too expensive, if you can find it on a shelf. But it's like 22lr. Guys buy it and then resell it for a huge markup. Grumble grumble. :)

Mmmm Stranahan's, the Costco on Quincy and Wads sells it the cheapest I've seen around.

Are you sure he "can" drink?
I am always afraid of giving someone alcohol, they may not drink or be a recovered alcoholic.
If he can, send him the best.

Get him one of those digital photo frames and a jump drive that he can hang on is man cave wall. Take several photos of the uzi (different angles), and load them on the drive, and send them with a card suggesting he load favorite photos of his dad, along with photos of the gun. When he's feeling nostalgic, he can have an array of memories to look back on.

Yeah but how's that supposed to get him drunk?
