Shooting around Firestone

I'm in one of the subdivisions in northern Firestone and most weekends I hear a large amount of shooting coming from just north of me. Sounds like it's coming from one of the gravel pits near the river. It's enough fire that it sounds like organized classes going on.

I wanna shoot too!!! What's the deal?

Dunno. I've noticed people with land just south of frederick off Colorado shooting in their yards near roadway. Might just have several neighbors slightly out of town that all shoot.

I had permission to clear out some prarie dogs a little ways west of Colorado north of 119 a little ways but land was sold. Also used to shoot just .22 and .17 hmr on some old, flooded berthough rifle club land but no more gas companies have taken it over. I have seen the quarry you are talking about and it does look like a good spot. There are a few quarries that look to have some premo land, I have thought about just calling up and asking them but haven't yet, don't want anyone freaking out on me.
