ups / local mailing store OR the local gun store. That's where i get them from. They usually toss the outer sleeves rifles come in.

I've tried ups and usps, they don't have anything that quite works. the local gun store isn't a bad idea, i might have to try that out.
Can you just make your own box with cardboard and tape?

this was the last resort. the problem is i did this last time to ship a barrel and even after doing it up pretty tight the barrel somehow came out in shipping and usps never found it. coincidence? maybe, but I'm not sure i was to risk it again.
Maybe hit up Home Depot for a box that originally contained fluorescent tubes? That could probably be made to work with a little creativity.
Depending on the size, ask a local guitar center/music store if you can help yourself to one of the guitar boxes they toss.

I bought a pelican replica from Cabelas last year that I used to fly my G19 back with from CO. It was really nicely padded and lockable. It was less than $50 IIRC.

He's wanting a box to cover the rifle case. Less eye's, less temptation.
Behind any successful bike shop. Will need to be modified but those are generally fairly sturdy boxes.

SO SORRY! You never returned my phone call either....
On another note, I am sure a member here has a basement full of them or call your LGS and see if they have some extras.

Treat yourself to a new TV and use that box.
I think I have a guitar box in my garage attic, if you think that size will work. I can check when I get home.

Anyone that sells Daniel Defense full rifles typically has some one size fits all boxes, also some UPS stores have bike boxes (that's what they call them) that can fit a lot of rifle case.
Probably not a good use of your time, but I have a small pile. If you feel up to driving down here, I can hook you up.
Thanks for the help all I figured it out!
