So I've been hearing recently about guys using Airguns to train for precision rifle shooting. I could definitely use some practice with barricades and alternate positions. It would nice to be able to practice at home!
What kind of air guns are you guys using to get quality training in?
Anschutz 9003. I shoot many thousands of pellets in my basement. Mostly off sticks and awkward positions.

I am by no means a competition shooter, but rather a guy who loves to shoot and shoot accurately. I have a Hatsan PCP rifle that has a trigger very similar in feel and break as my long range AR. Same optics as well. 22 cal. I shoot in my basement a few days a week. About 500 pellets a week when I'm no too busy. also do it in my yard when the weather is nice. A whole lot of fun and is I think it does help when I crack out the powder burner.

What kind of scope are you using and how far do you shoot? Do SPF focus down closer? I'm guessing you have a more modern house with a full, open basement? I've got an older house and a hallway.
Come clean, Hoser. You have a VTAC barricade and a roof section in your basement, don't you ;)

The scope is a Leupold 6.5-20 EFR. It can focus down to about 9-10 meters at the lower powers. Crank it up to 20 and it gets a bit fuzzy.
I had not thought about a VTAC wall in the basement. Good idea.

Have Tim K make you a fancy VTAC bookshelf. Then you and the wife can both be happy.
What are you using for a trap?
I'm planning on a bucket full of tire chips

I built a wooden box and glued some steel plate to the back. Then filled the back with "duct seal."

Currently I am using a electrical breaker box filled with duct seal. I'm switching to a 5 gallon bucket filled with rubber mulch. Which is the same as shredded tires. Dirt cheap at Home Depot, much easier to clean and it is quieter when the pellet goes in . Cut the lid to the bucket so the center is open. put a cardboard piece in front, tape, shoot. Done.
Duct seal trap worked good, but my trap now weighs a ton and I don't want to dig the pellets out of it. Here is exactly what I did and where I got the idea.

How big is your basement/training area and how precise do you want to be? I am asking because i train with airsoft in my basement. Cost is low, precision is good, damage is low and training is as real as it can be.
