Media. supposedly asked to step back?? Clearly another reason the 1st amendment needs to be rewritten. NO ONE EXPECTED MOVING PICTURES
Apparently, he stepped outside the press pen and was told to step back by the SS agent.
Instead of complying, he mouthed off to the SS agent and was promptly shown the error in his judgement.

That you seem perfectly fine with said penning is disturbing.
Gun free zones anyone? (Or, perhaps more accurately, should we have "Gun Permitted Zones" only in small locations?)

Really?
That's what you got from my post?
Please stop trying to make this into something it clearly is not.

So, the title "How to properly handle a liberal" and text "I want to keep watching this" is pretty strong indication you approve of the actions.
Yes, I love to see liberals get slammed when mouthing off and playing the "you can't touch me" card.
Guilty.
However,
Nothing to do with penning up press - though it has been common practice for years and allows the press freedom to do their jobs - really just a press-only area for them to work from.
Nothing to do with the second amendment.
Media is instructed to remain within prescribed boundaries. Media violates instructions, pain ensues.
No shits given.

I "Believe" he was referring to the "fact" the media believes they are above everyone else. THEY HAVE THE RIGHT, THEY HAVE THE MEANS, THEY HAVE CONTROL.
Another part of this is again, IMO. The media and other attention whores are looking for ANYTHING they can use to discredit Trump.
He's racist
He's Xenophobic
He's a misogynistic
He hates the media
he, he he.
While i don't like the guy. The media is doing the same character assassination on him, as they did on Palin. Covered under free speech.
YET.............. when O is / was attacked the cries and accusations of RACIST flow from the same holes.
This would have never happened if Trump wasn't running. I blame him. :(
And racism. Trump is white so there has to be some racism somewhere.

The First Amendment is not unlimited! Silly Liberals...

Not saying right or wrong, but if I were a betting man, the agent will get disciplined. It's the way the world works...right now.

Frankly, the Secret Service has been an arrogant bunch of punks for a long time. Their competence level does not match their opinion of themselves.
Here, its not clear that the Secret Service agent was reacting to, we lack the exact audio of what the Time photog said. So its not clear why the Secret Service agent thought he had the justification for physically taking him down. The way that he took him down showed that he did not actually think the photog was a physical threat. And the result is that the Secret Service agent is out of his position, taken out of his role.
If I was his supervisor, I'd likely discipline him myself.
Rightly or wrongly, it's probably a little odd to go from having complete unfettered access to the inner sanctum of the White House/Oval Office (as Chris Morris did) while W was in office to being put in a pen while Donald is on stage in a packed auditorium.
Looks familiar. He should count himself lucky he wasn't shot.

As stated above no good audio but an SS agent picking up a civilian by the throat and body slamming him seems excessive. IMHO the photogs politics are irrelevant.

It unfortunately cuts the episode into a few different clips, so there's not a good "continuous" recording, but it does have pretty clear audio of the very beginning.
SS agent: "Get back in the pen."
Photog: "F*ck you."
SS agent: "What did you say?"
(And that's where that particular recording stops)
I thought the left told us that freedom of speech doesn't give you protection from consequences over what you say? That is the platform the social justice warriors operate on. :shrugs:

I didn't get to see any longer footage of this 'protest', looks like things were less than pleasant for security while the BLM crowd were given a good leway.
They were both amped up and both crossed the line (but the camera guy looks like Ward Churchill so,....what are ya gonna do!).
I always thought the proper way to handle a liberal was with a sock full of D batteries...

Clearly the SS agent took it as a personal insult and was not able to separate his ego from his esteemed employer. If he can't handle a simple F-word, then how can he protect the president? Obviously he does not have control over his emotions.
Might want to wait till the report comes out before making accusations off a few video clips.
Just sayin

Chopped too close to get any context. Looks like photog is being a shit but still doesn't deserve the beat down.
Yesterday I talked to a friend of mine who's a tv news cameraman for one of the big 3 networks (he's also quite an accomplished shooter and has been to both Gunsite and Thunder Ranch multiple times). He was at this event and gave me his take on it. Trump events are unlike other campaign events. At most there is an area set-up for the still photographers and tv cameras as well as their reporters. Usually it's so they can get good view of the candidates and the crowds. During speeches the photographers stay in this area. At the Trump events they keep the cameras in these separated areas, pens, and he doesn't want them moving around (most outlets have multiple cameras-one for the platform pen and another to move around the periphery).
Every now and then something happens at an event (protesters for example) and the photogs will try to get pics/footage of what's going on.
Now generally it's the Secret Service that posts agents at these areas for two reasons: first to make sure no one without the proper credentials attempts to masquerade as a member of the press corp and that nothing "weird" goes on in this area.
The photogs in this area also know that if the SS says you can't do something/go somewhere then you follow that directive. This TIME photographer, who's covered the White House for the past 8 years and isn't just some newbie, wanted to try to get pics of the protesters-the SS agent told him he couldn't leave the pen-my friend said he then cursed out the agent and attempted to barge through the area. The agent grabbed the guy, he struggled, the agent grabbed him by the neck and took him down. Once on the ground the guy kicked the agent and continued to curse at him.
Now at these events SS agents are brought in from nearby offices to augment the travelling details. Many of them haven't been given the training the protective detail agents get. We all know you never win an argument with l.e. at the time of the incident. This photog for Time obviously just learned that lesson. Perhaps the agent could've responded differently, don't know. I do think the photog could've behaved much differently.

That's so the press doesn't see him shaking hands with all those Klansmen.

Pretty much my take.
I'm a liberal reporter
Obtuse and loud
This is my handle (throat) and here's where I spout (mouth)
When I get all worked up
Hear me shout (Fuck you!)
Choke me over and take me out.
My take: The press are granted access that would be difficult or impossible for the average person to achieve, in exchange for their agreement to abide by certain rules of behavior and decorum. The photog in this case chose to breach those rules, and became combative when the Secret Service agent tried to make him comply. The Secret Service agent probably could have been more diplomatic, and failed to de-escalate the situation, probably due to ego.
Generally, it is bad practice to argue with the guy with the gun and the badge, even if he's wrong.
Comes down to Fightin' Words.
Growing up outside Houston, TX, we had a great migration from the North during the 70's and early 80's.
I remember my Dad explaining to me the difference in what Yankees considered fightin' words vs. what we grew up with.
A lot of Yankees got popped in the mouth and did not understand why back then.
