Well, I pulled the trigger.

My first NFA purchase, after a lot of recon and decisions, is a Griffin Armament Optimus. http://www.griffinarmament.com/OPTIMUS-SILENCER-p/gaopt.htm

It's user-serviceable, full-auto rated, comes with a pistol booster, mount and .22 & .30 end caps, has a dedicated rifle blast baffle, and supports everything from .17 to 300 Win. Mag. .... pretty much everything I was intending to get in 3 suppressors, in 1. If it's an underperformer for 5.56 or .308, I'll get a dedicated can for those later, but all indicators seem to point up...

Anyone have any insider info or experience with an Optimus already?

I'll be trying it out on .22lr, 9mm, 5.56/.223 and .308 initially, well after the 6 month wait in NFA purgatory, that is.

Nice, did you file already? I know someone looking for one, but no one as a Optimus in stock.

Yes, Capitol Armory had at least 1 in stock yesterday, but most everyone else seems to have sold out of them. They're going fast!
The Form 3 transfer has been filed and I have my specific SN. It will be a few more weeks before it's received by my local dealer and the "wait" really begins.

Don't get your hopes up over performance within those calibers. It will suppress 1 maybe 2 rifle calibers good, pistol, perhaps 38/357, 4tay, 45 & 10mm . Everything else, maybe.

Oh yeah, congrats on entering the NFA game. Might as well file another 1 soon, everyone else knows you will ;)

Yes, I know the performance of supersonic loads will be less than impressive. I have 147gr subsonic 9mm and lots of .22lr for starters and will get another can for .45, which I suspect will be incredibly quiet... The Optimus does not go beyond .30 cal. A .300blk upper might be in order... time will tell.

Mine just showed up at Ark. Going down to do the paperwork tonight. I'll take some pictures. I bought mine back in December. The place was online. Honsold bros or something similar.
