I just recently got this upper online from a well known vendor because it appeared to be a really good deal and other than the qual rail from 1876, it was exactly what I had been looking for. When I first took it out of the box, everything seemed fine until I pinned it to a known good lower from Spikes, and another known good lower from Mega. See picture:

I have never seen a gap that huge between an upper and lower in that location. It is so bad that it rattles when you grip the gun. I've always heard over the years that even though bad receiver fit is unsightly and generally sucks, it has no effect on the actual functioning of the rifle. Do y'all think that this holds true in all cases? I know I can return it for an exchange though I will most likely get the same thing back, or I can get my money back which I don't really want to do if this gun will still function fine as It will be exactly what I was looking for once I put a new hand guard on it. What do you think?

My PSA 300 blackout upper is similar in that it has a healthy rattle. I'll have to check it with a light someday. It's not complete, so I have not ever fired it.

Rattle is fine. Space / gap. That's a personal choice.

thats bad, most people won't notice. But its your rifle and YOU will know its there. If you have any cans, remember that gas will escape from that.

You could just fill the gap with some JB weld.

I would agrea. I personally don't like any gap/space. It's all up to you. If you are ok with the gap leave it as is. If it bothers you find or that fits tighter.
