I've got a box of 500 of the Xtreme 124 gr plated HP in 9mm, and I'd like to load them up for plinking by wife and friends to keep them from shooting up my competition rounds. We'll be shooting them in a Shield, G43, Ruger LCR, CZ P01 and CZ 75 Compact. I've got Bullseye, Unique, Titegroup and VV N320. I can also get N330 and N340. Looking for low-mid velocities. What say ye?

I'm currently using Titegroup on the upper end of the load data. My pistol just likes a higher velocity in this bullet weight. My pistol cycled just fine with a light load, but wasn't as accurate as I would've liked. Bullseye is good and I have a hard on for VV N320/320 with heavier bullets. If you wanted a super soft shooting 9mm, try N320 and a 147gr bullet. Fast powder-heavy bullet

I'm currently using N320 and 147s for my CZ SP-01 in 3 gun. It's really fun to shoot. Not too concerned with soft shooting - ideally, we'd get closer to 124 gr self defense rounds.

I've used VVN320. Where can you get N330?

3.9g of Titegroup is what I use. This is off hand, standing, at 10 yards. 10 rounds, so one group of 4 touching, a second group of 2 touching, and four singles. This is out of my stock CZ 75B.

Sportmans Warehouse in Loveland has it fairly often.

Looks like I'll give 3.9 gr of TG a try.

That was with Xtreme plated 124gr FP by the way. I expect similar results from Bayou Bullets powder coated 124gr FPs.

3.8-4.2 is the usual powder charge with TG. I run 4.0 mixed head stamped brass, 1.140 OAL. Very light crimp. Just enough to mar the plating. The 4.0 - 4.1 cycles anything have.

If you switch to 147's it's 3.3gr TG

I burn lots of TG in my 9 and 40s.

Unless one can obtain 3-4 lbs, it's not something i start load development with. Using TG one gets approx 1600 rds per lb. If you're a pt. shooter great. Once you hit the range or comps regularly. That number goes out the window.

This is for the casual shooters I shoot with. 500 rounds will likely last 2-3 months for them. I mainly stick with N320 and 147s for competition and practice.

I'd go Unique if you're trying to duplicate self defense rounds, faster (I like Bullseye) if you want low-mid velocities.
