View Full Version : 4 runner mod work suggestions
My father in law wants to have some work done to his newer 4 runner. He is looking to lift it, run 32-33" tires, get a winch, roof rack, and some lights.
Any recommendation on shops around Lakewood to check out as well as avoid?
Thanks!

If he doesn't mind the travel, Scott at Addicted Off Road does amazing work. He is in Fort Collins and specializes in Yotas. He started out in his garage in Windsor and grew from there.

Slee and Addicted are both great. Consider High Country Performance 4x4 too.

Jesse @ ATLR. The work is right up his alley and is very fairly priced. He is well known in the Yota world.

Do they work on anything besides Toyotas? Always wanted the to go talk to them since they moved in but never got around to it.

Stay away from those lugnuts off Peoria/I70; they do piss poor work at golden turd prices. Had them work on one of my Jeeps suspension and they totally fugged it up. Took it back 4 times before they came close to doing it right.
Addicted Offroad up here does some good things so check them out for sure. RCI up this way is up and coming as well. Down by you check out Toytec as they're a well established organization within the Toyota community & I love their customer appreciation celebration every summer. If he has they budget & desire have him check out Insane Fab as their 4Runner plate bumpers are incredible. When I first saw them I was almost tempted to hawk the Tacoma to get one just to have the bumper. Almost. What a work of art. There's some pics of a maroon one somewhere that showcase the lines better but I wasn't able to find it so:

Shouldn't need much of a lift to run 32s. I had 32's (265/70/17's) on my '07 4runner with just a mild FJ Cruiser spring swap.
EDITED TO ADD: I'll second (or third or fourth?) the quality of Scotty's work at Addicted. He built a bumper for my 1999 4runner, it was great.
For 32's wheel offset will make a difference. For instance, I went with the Team Trail FJ wheels because the offset is slightly higher than the Tacoma wheels which allow you to clear larger tires. Front what I've heard some have said that 285's can be done w/o much in the way of corner cutting or fender rolling with stock ride height. I went to about 3" and 265/75R16 tires so the offset really isn't needed but if I decide to go with larger tires someday I know I can fit them w/o issue.
