Wife's wanted a cattle dog/heeler for a long time. We tried the shelter but they rarely come in and no luck with any rescue orgs here. We did find a special needs Red Heeler here (he was deaf) but he just didn't work with the other dogs. We haven't had a puppy for ages so we decided to go that route this time.

So, this is Hairy, from Lolo, MT. He's 7.5 weeks old.

LOL... Yeah, he's pudgy. First puppy I've ever seen with a double chin!

My heeler of 9 years has been an amazing dog. Just watch out when they go from puppy stage to dog stage... They think they run the house at that point. Mine needed a 5 mile bike ride daily to get her energy out. Now that she's older she is turning into a softy. For future reference a great heeler organization is New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue based out of Denver. They do great work for these animals.

Adorable! We LOVE our little red heeler! She's smart and was pretty easy to train. 10 years old next week and she still runs around like a little puppy.

Does Hairy have a tail? Our Shaila does not. She just has a little nub that wiggles back and forth.

Hairy's got a little, wiggly nub.

Before we left Denver my wife checked the New Hope rescue page almost daily. But we decided to wait until we were done with the move and settled into a house before getting another dog.

Wow...big change in colors. I've heard they do that. Gorgeous heelers, all of 'em.

Sweet.

I usually go for adult dogs. But I was blown away by this guys little frenchy 9 week puppy. Kinda curious to see what a Cane Corso/Mastiff puppy's like.

Sorry, the estrogen levels kinda went through the roof there for a minute. That is an adorable, adorable puppy you have there.

Great looking beast. Heelers rule.

He will try to run the pack. After 13 yrs Buddy dog still tries.

I think "Cartman" would be a great name for a dog. :D

Jesus! It's like having a 3 year old kid again. Gotta watch 'em every minute, all day long. Puppies are exhausting!
