Reader's Digest version: Local hood thug criminal good boy breaks into home in Miami. 54-year old female homeowner, armed after previous burglaries, confronts good boy. Good boy assuming ambient temperature after confrontation.

Now, the family of this good boy is naturally upset. Here's a quote from a grieving family member:

“You have to look at it from every child’s point of view that was raised in the hood,” said Harris. “You have to understand… how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point-of-view.”

No, Nautika, I don't have to look at it from his point of view. I look at it from the point of view of a useful, productive, law-abiding member of society. The only downside to this incident is the homeowner will now have to:

face the legal, both criminal and possibly civil, consequences of doing the community a favor (something the little punk didn't have to worry about while committing his crimes)
worry about retribution from other thugs/family members
live with what she was practically forced to do
be vilified in the local press

I won't mourn the death of this Trevon any more than I'll mourn the death of the other infamous Trayvon.

A good shoot, more scum off the street.

Family deserves to starve to death in the gutter.

There's one other downside you didn't mention. Cleaning the blood out of her carpet isn't going to be much fun.

If I remember the story correctly (from a radio broadcast of the incident), he was in the backyard and turned around to walk back toward the homeowner in some fashion, be it threatening or confrontational, and she shot him. So no blood on her carpet!

Shot him outside, just needs the garden hose. Or let the alley cats lick it up.

That's the new morality soon to be codified in law.

People who have things of value have misappropriated those things from others. Race, class, gender, etc... And work, dedication, etc... doesn't matter just your location in the special snowflake hierarchy.

So the theft is just taking what should have been his. Should anyone be killed over that?

"So you shot a burglar, but where's the body?"

"I do like the Indians and use every part of what I kill."
