(Yes, I know all about Vox but this is interesting and worth a look)
Saw this on the Book of Faces from a guy who was "neutral" and he was surprised at how much The Bern is going to cost him. I've run through my scenario and multiple other scenarios.
I am consistently finding tax increases that people can't afford. Even a small family at the poverty line will have to cough up around 5% more. The Denver metro median income family would have to pay around 12% more.
Put in a married couple with HH income $60K and you get a $6,830 increase. Add a child and you get a $7,980 increase. So the Sanders plan penalizes families for having children?
The Trump and Cruz numbers offer savings, Trump better than Cruz. Clinton's numbers are flat until you put in $250K+.
If you play with it (the calculator, to be specific), let me know what you think.
I'm really surprised The Bern has gotten this far. This is the exact opposite of the lie Liberals tell (free lunch).

I got seriously burned by Bernie ... Under his plan I pay $4530 more, under Clinton I pay $40 more. Under Cruz I pay $2400 less and under Trump $2560.
Basically if we get Bernie AND the Single Payer Socialized Medicine crap on the ballot I'll lose more than $8,000 a year.
Well this fucking sucks http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160326/06214191e95f4f694dc2d9004fad6ac4.jpg

Then don't vote for Bernie.
Lol. Bernie's plan would set me back nearly $20K more each year according to them.
Bernie and his idiots will learn the hard way that they aren't entitled to as much as they feel they are.
Don't forget to add Colorado Amendment 69 to the total. https://www.i2i.org/amendment-69-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-coloradocare-single-payer-health-care-measure/
There is a 6.67 percent tax on the total payroll of all employers, and a 3.33 payroll tax on employees. All other “non-payroll income from all beneficiaries” will be taxed at 10 percent. The new taxes would be added to the 4.63 tax Colorado already imposes on income.
All costs incurred by business will be passed on to consumers.
So everyone would be paying more taxes across the board, but what has Sanders promised in exchange for that increase?

That's right. We're forgetting about all of the cool free stuff we'd be getting from the government. I'm sure everything will kind of balance out. We wouldn't have as much money but we wouldn't need as much money.

nothing for you, it all goes to the takers...
of course, this all assumes they can get passed what they want... but it shows the intent (except Hillary, you can't trust anything associated with anyone even associated with her... unless they're dead- then they tried to stand up to her)

More deadbeats, more kids getting indoctrinated in college while they take useless "courses of study" and forget how to actually think, a decrease in national security, and global appeasement. I think that about covers it.
It's just ironic to me that people would complain about the price of college, then like the idea of switching from paying for college once, to paying for college FOREVER, and think it's a good idea. It is just astounding how financially stupid people have become.
So you guys are seeing what I'm seeing.
This should be spread far and wide. Anyone pulling the lever for Bernie needs to understand the personal price of it. I don't think folks have the extra to pay. This would pretty much flatten me and make me question why I should keep working as I do now.

This one may actually force me out of the state. They make it seem cheap to employees but it will kill the self-employed. There are no guarantees those numbers are accurate and no guarantee it will eliminate all other healthcare costs, meaning a self-employed person may have to pay into this and then maintain some kind of gap coverage/fund expenses.

Looking at these numbers, why couldn't these hypothetical households just buy the "free stuff" for themselves? Look at the dollars a modest middle class family will be paying in increases. $8,000/year buys a lot of college!

^ Exactly. As bad as tuition/school loans are, it can be a fixed liability (once completed). This is an infinite liability that can never be paid off and is certain to increase.

Don't worry...just pay up.

I can handle a 13% increase in taxes no problem.

17k more in taxes for me if Sanders gets his way. I already am on the hook for 46K per year. Guess the Gov knows how to better spend my money lol.
Awesome....$22K more with the Bern.
one more reason we need the senate, house and SCOTUS.

Wow, if you're a Seattle burger flipper with no kids getting that $15/hr, you'll STILL be paying $3k per year more in taxes than the current system. $30k/yr, single and 2+ kids? $4500 more.
$20k/yr single no kids? $2k more. $20k/yr single, 2+ kids? $3130 more.
Bernie's not gonna tax the rich - he's gonna tax e'ebody!
Under socialism we'll all be equally impoverished; Bernie of course will enjoy wealth and power he has never known.

I'd pay $9140 more under Sanders. How many people in my financial situation have an extra $9000 laying around? Answer: Nobody - It will get taken directly out of their check and they'll never see it!

No doubt about that!
Think of the math... $750/month of lost income. It's almost like taking on a second mortgage or leasing a new BMW.

How your tax liability changes under...
Trump Pay $8,160 less (Tax rate: 12.8%)
Cruz Pay $8,320 less (Tax rate: 12.7%)
Clinton Pay $160 more (Tax rate: 18.2%)
Sanders Pay $11,830 more (Tax rate: 25.7%)
Oh, yeah. I can feel the burn.
Foxtrot - don't you mean rubles or yuan (renminbi)? :)
Should the impossible ever happen, there's simply no way I could shell out $17k more per year to pay for everyone's free shit. I would pretty much have to stop contributing to my retirement.

Then you would be forced to be dependent on government for the rest of your life... Mission accomplished.
Like a liberal at work told me "You should want to help pay for someone else's college and health", the implication being that I'm selfish.
Then I said "If you want to help them do it out of your own pocket"
They changed the subject.

When they pull that shit with me I explain how charity works. Most of them don't give and don't even know there are charities that have been doing more for folks than givernmnet for a long time.
Charity is done from the heart, not at gunpoint, said a liberal NEVER.
Don't forget if/when Hillary gets in, the slight increase in taxes will be offset by the money you will save not buying guns or ammunition, do to confiscation.
Hillary will be too busy lining her pockets to screw with us, the presidency is a golden opportunity for her to become a multi-billionaire.
Hillary will be too busy lining her pockets to screw with us, the presidency is a golden opportunity for her to become a multi-billionaire.
I don't think so. She is more interested in the power. She will bask in all the muscle, superiority, and revenge that the presidency will give her. The money that follows but will just reinforce her feeling of arrogance. Screwing with the little people will be her entertainment. She could stayed in congress with less effort and became a multi-billionaire from her terms in congress if she were that interested in money
SAnd - you make some good points. I hope we don't have to find out.
Damn, almost 16k more per year under Bernie's plan. Though I doubt he'll make it, the Dems rig their primaries with super delegates so they get who they want in the general election. It's easier to get their person elected by calling opponents sexists instead of anti-socialists.
