So I went up to King Soopers at Centennial and Fillmore today and there were a couple gathering signatures on a petition to put former Manitou Springs Mayor (and life long Democrat) Marc Snyder on the ballot for El Paso County Commissioner as a REPUBLICAN!

That's some low down, dirty nasty dishonesty right there folks (basically if they get him on the ballot, he'll win automatically).

God Demonrats are evil.

How can he claim to be a Republican without the blessing of the party?

I thought if you had the backing of an established political party you didn't need to collect signatures to get on a ballot?

Apparently not. Apparently the "third way" to get on the ballot is by petition and either you don't need the permission of the party to claim membership OR this is yet another example of the stupid and ineffectual COGOP in action.

You can claim whatever party affiliation you want. The Democrats playing dirty is nothing new. They gerrymandered former State Senator Morse's district to take advantage of a large transient population and a pool of non-transient Democrats on the west side so the seat would be reliably Democrat. The only reason we got a Republican in there to fill out his term was that the Democrats thought they could beat the recall by manufacturing voters at Colorado College.

As it is, what they try to pull in C Springs is nothing on what they pull in Pueblo where they control the County Clerk's office ...

I'd read that as well and yet there they were with their little clipboards asking for Republican voters.

Is the state GOP not putting anyone else on the ballot? Can there be more than one candidate from a party for the same office?

Anyone is free to change parties, names, sex and partners today. Anyone who still votes based on party is brain dead.

Wow. I find it amazing that political parties have that little control over their "brand". If anybody can officially attach the name of any party to their candidacy without the party's consent, I'm surprised there aren't a lot more false flag operations conducted.

How do you know they're not in on it?
