I looked but didn't see another post on this but I'm sure it will quickly be pointed out if there is one.
From what I've been able to find there were two groups of about 15 men who opened fire on campers in a California park. One group was caugh, detained and then let go. There's not a whole lot of news sources covering it and even some of the law enforcement sources won't confirm it. At some point we should start listening to what these people who hate us say they're going to do.

"According to the victim/witness, there were two groups of men, about 15 per group, armed with heavy weapons, who began shouting “Allah u Akbar” and started firing. The firing allegedly lasted upwards of TWO HOURS before police were able to find callers in the vast California parkland.
When police were responding, one group of 15 or so men took-off into the hills, while the other group was captured by police."

Yep. I hope it's just a guy who over reacted to the what was actually going on, that would be good. I doubt it will get much scrutiny or coverage in the media since the shooters weren't Christian, conservative, white americans though.

I dunno ... the original source for this is a website called "superstation95" https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/1086
they have the look of either a kook site or a satire site.
Looks like the original original source was a local news site http://www.vvng.com/ and there's an update there (http://www.vvng.com/update-subjects-in-deep-creek-incident-detained-and-released/)and the guys were "detained and released" ... so my guess is it was some guys out in the desert target shooting without realizing that there were campers in the area.
I think this is a case of reading a lot into a simpler story ... Pamela, you should be better than this.

The Religion of Peace would NEVER open fire on a group of tourist, campers etc. UNLESS there was infidels among them.
Here is another report on it:

Several handguns, a rifle, and a shotgun were found at the scene, but a records check found all the weapons were registered with the exception of the rifle, which reportedly didn’t have a serial number because it was purchased in parts, an FBI spokesperson told The Times.
80% lower?

I'm seeing a distinct lack of turbans in that photo, as the witnesses claim.
It was a light brown ghost gun.

Meh, it's California. If they tried that here, they'd get return fire and they know it.

Wait, no arrests made due to no laws being broken. What about the rifle missing the S/N?

California has had several bills introduced that would require those manufacturing a firearm to obtain a serial number but I don't think they have passed.

What's interesting is that these people were supposedly committing no crime at all, yet they all sit there in handcuffs.
There is a whole lot of vague reporting here. Multiple witnesses confirm these "men" fired multiple rounds in a populated camping area and no charges have been filed? Terrorist or not, this doesn't smell right.
I hit 8-12 different sites and all had the same info. Is there any "reliable" reporting on this?

As reported on other sites, the men were described as either target shooting, or shooting into the air, not shooting at or even near people.
My thought is that they were target shooting or plinking on public land, nervous nellie campers heard gunfire and "allahu akbars", promptly shat brix, and called the cops to say people were shooting at them, and probably also that their feels were hurt.
Had they actually been shooting AT people, or probably even shooting in the air, they'd have been arrested, not detained and released.
Sounds to me like maybe some details are being added to thicken the plot. Maybe they were yelling Allah whatever the hell they yell, and maybe they weren't, think of how many reports around here that get filed because some crazy guy in the national forest was shooting at people riding their bike or hiking, and it turns out to be a family out enjoying the outdoors and doing some plinking. These extremist have proven how secretive they are in their planning and training, so I just find it hard to believe that they got caught in the Cali desert training for the next big attack. Take away the Middle East factor and this is anyone of us out enjoying a nice day. Could it be something to be concerned about; sure it could, but then so could you make a case for keeping everyone on this forum under for surveillance because of our shooting and gun collecting habits.

This seems like the most plausible explanation to me too. A bunch of nervous nellies crying liberal tears that someone could possibly be using a gun in "their" California.
Honestly, it could happen to a bunch of us if we went out to NF or BLM land for a COAR shoot and some hippie called it in.
