One more reason to vote to make the Dems lose. I don't care that people have to swallow something unpalatable and elect Trump/Cruz/Kasich/whatever as long as we don't have Bernie or Hillary appointing more thought police. Bear in mind they are starting with "climate change" but they WILL swing it to do similar actions against people who support the Second Amendment, question IRS tactics, etc. First it's just companies and "climate change" then it'll be individuals and other topics.
[A coalition of Democratic attorneys general in 16 states announced Tuesday an unprecedented campaign to pursue companies that challenge the catastrophic climate change narrative, raising concerns over free speech and the use of state authority to punish political foes.
[The campaign was spurred by articles last year alleging Exxon hid research conducted by its own scientists linking fossil fuel emissions and global warming. Exxon officials have denied the claims and countered that the investigation was conducted by journalism entities that receive funding from foundations known for their climate change activism.
“Gore joined with attention-seeking attorneys general to essentially try to shut down any ‘global warming’ views that differ from the United Nations’ or Gore‘s,” said Mr. Morano in an email. “Agree or face investigations is the new normal for the climate debate.”
WOW!! These liars never quit and the true colors of the (D) are revealed once again.
This is just like the old Soviet Union where a dissenter would be arrested and imprisoned merely for questioning the state.

Yup. Notice how they have to shift the speech into something more than speech.
Doubting climate change is in itself harmful.
Opposing PC is violence.
Talking about Islam is terrorism (causes extremism/backlash).

Looks like it's just a matter of time before conservatives are labelled as dissidents and persecuted by the state if the D's continue to win major elections. You know they want to.

Yes, anyone with the slightest bit of knowledge about Lenin and Mao knows the (D) want to.

They would load us up on cattle cars if they had their way.

:)
Maybe the (D) can prosecute a NEO for taunting us.

You know it!!!

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion...
Much easier to get your way with activism.
An update:
http://energyindepth.org/national/democratic-attorneys-general-refuse-rockefeller-climate-investigation/
A press conference today featuring Al Gore and more than a dozen state attorneys general (http://www.ag.ny.gov/press-release/ag-schneiderman-former-vice-president-al-gore-and-coalition-attorneys-general-across) was expected to reveal new state-level investigations of U.S. energy companies regarding climate change. But the vast majority of AGs standing on stage refused to join such an effort, signaling a lack of interest in wasting their own states’ resources.
Legal experts have also questioned the merits of New York’s investigation. John Coffee, a law professor at Columbia University, told the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/31/science/exxon-mobil-accused-of-misleading-public-on-climate-change-risks.html?_r=0) that a “leading obstacle [to a conviction] would be the First Amendment, as climate change is a matter of robust public debate.”
I like the idea that the Constitution is an obstacle to any government overreaching. I believe that was the intended purpose to the Bill of Rights.

Restricting government was the intended purpose of the entire Constitution.

You know, the first thing I thought of when I heard about this was "Bullshit....1stA" protects you.
What I can see happening is the old liberal tactic of incrementalism. "Ok, you can say what you want, but you have to put a disclaimer saying that you may be wrong, or you'll be fined to provide more money for us to waste."
Restricting government was the intended purpose of the entire Constitution.
The best way to restrict government is to not create one, but anarchy only works in the minds of the naive, the utopian, and the delusional.
Much of the Constitution is focused on the structure of the federal government. One of the agreements made to insure ratification of the Constitution by the states was the promise to immediately amend the Constitution to restrict the government the Constitution created. These first ten amendments to the Constitution are the Bill of Rights.
The truth about the climate change scam, of course anyone with a lick of sense always knew it was fraud writ large.
http://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/another-climate-alarmist-admits-real-motive-behind-warming-scare/
Fraud: While the global warming alarmists have done a good job of spreading fright, they haven’t been so good at hiding their real motivation. Yet another one has slipped up and revealed the catalyst driving the climate scare.
Have doubts? Then listen to the words of former United Nations climate official Ottmar Edenhofer (http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/11/18/ipcc-official-%E2%80%9Cclimate-policy-is-redistributing-the-worlds-wealth%E2%80%9D/):
“One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with the environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole,” said Edenhofer, who co-chaired the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change working group on Mitigation of Climate Change from 2008 to 2015.
So what is the goal of environmental policy?
“We redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy,” said Edenhofer.

If they were honest, the climate alarmists would admit that they are not working feverishly to hold down global temperatures — they would acknowledge that they are instead consumed with the goal of holding down capitalism and establishing a global welfare state.

I'm not surprised that most AGs won't go along with this. My surprise and disgust comes from ANY of the state AGs participating in this corrupt misuse of official powers. I posted it simply as a sign of things to come and added rationale why we cannot afford more Democratic political victories. The GOP or independent candidates will likely have their own issues but we need to align the non-Democratic voters and get behind the candidates with the best shot against the Democrats. We simply can't afford more of this BS.
I grew up not even thinking about whether or not free speech should be allowed - it just was, and it seemed odd to me that someone had to write it into the Constitution. Same with the 2nd amendment really - a right to defend yourself just is.
Apparently, the decades of infiltration into the education system and the proceeding indoctrination of our youth is starting to pay off for the "progressive" dimwits.
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/11/20/40-of-millennials-ok-with-limiting-speech-offensive-to-minorities/
American Millennials are far more likely than older generations to say the government should be able to prevent people from saying offensive statements about minority groups, according to a new analysis of Pew Research Center survey data on free speech and media across the globe.
Several European countries already prosecute public speech - your Facebook page, and every comment you make on a website is considered public speech.

Ross was talking about this on 630 this morning.
The climate change fools lost the scientific battle because their data has been proven false time and time again. Coercion is their only recourse, akin to some liberal halfwit (redundant) calling me a racist when I point out the fallacies in their ignorant and stupid economic policies.

The Dems are playing the long game. Sure they lose on the science, but after generations of indoctrination in public "schools" and control of the legal process, news and entertainment medias they'll make us believe whatever they damn well want us to believe and we'll like it.
More and more I'm convinced that small scale nuclear war that knocks humanity back to the 1800s is really the only way to save liberty. As the state grows more powerful there will be no place for free thinking people ... and as technology grows allowing the state to intrude into every aspect of our daily lives, you won't even be able to think freely if you keep your mouth shut. You will be forced to loudly and proudly proclaim every stupid thing they want proclaimed.

Ironically, the government is considering the same plan in order to save the global economy.
Interesting times.
