I reinstalled my birdcage with a new crush washer and got about 25-30 degrees before it was clocked. I didn't have a barrel vise so I didn't go one more revolution. It wasn't very hard to remove either and was very tight to get it to clock without it in a vise .

Is this sufficient enough or should I go one more revolution, about 390 degree total?

I'll rig up a barrel vise from 2x4s if needed.

it's ok. BUT. If you're going to try tightening it more, you'll need shims to index it right.

Like kazoo said it will be fine.

OK, thanks for the help guys, my arm calibration was reading about 25 ft. lbs. +/- 5% margin of error.

Army guys used to take them off to clean them up pretty for inspections. I don't recall ever seeing one come off while firing. I'd find a bunch of loose ones during my mechanical inspections.

Should be fine, but if concerned you can always swing by Bowers with it and we can check it out.
