View Full Version : The summer of 2030 is going to be a doozy

Per the Whitehouse, increased temperatures due to climate change may cause 11,000 more deaths in the summer of 2030. No, this isn't an onion article.

When they can accurately tell me what's going to happen next week I'll start listening to what they say about 15 years from now.

So that gets published nationwide but the story about the real reason for this "climate change" BS gets ignored.

Hell, they can only tell us what might happen tomorrow.

Yea, and 40 years ago we were supposed to be freezing to death right?

Yup, I thought it was odd that this came out shortly after that other article, Roberth. I seriously thought it was a satire article when I first saw it.

Izvestia y Pravda

"There is no Pravda in Izvestia, and there is no Izvestia in Pravda" or in English "There is no truth in News, and there is no news in Truth." But this was said carefully and to people who would not report you to the Central Committee.

I'm still wondering what happened to the hole in the ozone layer that all the hairspray created.

Hell, the weathermen frequently report the CURRENT conditions wrong. I've literally seen them say no chance of rain WHILE it's raining outside.

The Mississippi river was going dry in the 70's. In ten years it was going to be dust. I must have missed the news when it actually happened, should have been in the 80's some time?

Texas was in a drought that would take 10 years to come out of according to the alarmists. A year later they're asking for someone to turn off the water.

The warmists like to point out the diminished Arctic icecap, but they seem to ignore the massive expansion in the Antarctic icecap. The next solar cycle is supposed to be one of the lowest on record...but that must be our fault.

Is warming not occurring on other parts of the globe?

Humans aren't an endangered species, -losing an extra 11,000 won't even make a dent. Bring it.

I say bring on the global warmin'. Longer growing seasons, more farmable land, less fossil fuels burned to heat homes, fewer winter traffic deaths, palm tress in Denver. What's not to like?

I have no doubts that many people will die from the heat. obama and is minions are doing everything they can to kill off our electric supply. In 20 years we may only have human pedal electric generators. Its hard to not overheat doing that. The pedaling may help you stay warm in the winter though.

Most people have no concept of how big this planet really is, and how insignificant humans are to this big rock. You could probably give every human on Earth 4 sq.ft. to stand on, and not even fill up Kansas. (Just my WAG)

The accepted border between our atmosphere and outer space is about 65 miles. Get the biggest globe you can find, measure off 65 miles on the surface, then come that distance up above the surface of the globe. That's a pretty damn thin atmosphere around this planet! We think those airliners are waaaay up there at 35-40,000 feet, but when you actually measure that distance from the surface of a globe, even a huge one, it's eye-opening.

Rosen called it a "grand conceit" to think that we have so much of an influence on the planets overall climate. I believe he's right.

And "they" have actually convinced a good portion of people that carbon is bad. I was taught in school that carbon was the building block of life. And that plants "eat" CO2. It's a pollutant now.

Bizarro World these days. Fuckin liberals and the media.

I thought the last I heard was the entire world could live in Texas with a population density of Tokyo. I've got no source on that.

...and then compare that to our sun, the biggest source of heat in our solar system.

I don't think that human activity is insignificant, not at all. That doesn't mean I think there should be Federal pressure though.

Gman
04-08-2016, 22:39
To put a value of significance to it, you have to be able to quantify it, know enough about it to determine cause, and also determine what fraction is attributable to mankind. None of that can be done based on our current understanding. Anthropogenic global warming/climate change/etc. is a hell of a lot closer to religion than true science.

A single volcanic eruption can put out more noxious gases than the emissions generated by man since the industrial revolution. We like to have the illusion of being significant...but we really aren't.

Very interesting! But, hypothetically, let's allot 4 sq. ft. per person, enough space for a person to stand in. Given that, how big an area would it take to put the entire population of Earth on? Not live on, just a representation of every human standing in one big group, each on his 4 sq.ft. spot?

Just curious -

Irving
04-08-2016, 23:30
6.9 billion x 4 sq/ft should do it.

39,600 sq/mi?

I don't know. Someone else can do the math.

Edit. If that shoddy math is correct, it'd be slightly larger than the state of Maine.

Cool, thanks! So saying all the humans on Earth would fit in Kansas isn't a stretch at all, and would actually be fairly generous, yes? Gonna need a lot of porta-johns.....

6.9 billion people... 4sqft each = 27,600,000,000 sqft = 990 sq miles = 633600 acres = About 2 Rocky Mountain National Parks

Or about 11.7 % of the total Denver Metro Area. ( Denver proper is 155 sq miles)

OR a little more then a JeffCo(780 sqmiles) but a little Less then an AdamsCo (1100Sqmiles)

Unless my first number is off...

EDIT

There enough whiskey has worn off to say it is not LOL

Wow, thanks guys! Math ain't my thing, I just know that the human race isn't much more than a passing minor irritation to this planet. Man thinks he's the shit, Earth says "who?" One decent asteroid strike and we'd all be gone, but Mother would just keep on rockin'.....
