Needing a new mount for a scope coming my way. But I can't decide on which MOA mount to go with? The rifle is a semi-auto, 20" .308 platform. Thoughts on this? Initially, I was thinking 10 MOA to give a little help on distance but then I thought 0 MOA to help keep it for closer range stuff too and help the 50 objective clear the rail. My range expectations would be 600 yards or so. Maybe have fun and try to reach our further somedays but I realize my caliber choice and platform aren't ideal for true precision. I just want a fun gun to set on the bench and ping steel out at some distance.

The scope itself is 3-15x.

Thanks!

Depends on the vertical adjustment range of your scope?

Let me know if this is the right answer.

Haha I don't know the right answer. Elevation adjustments is 26 MILs. It's not a ton but I also don't plan to try to reach out to 1000 yards with this rig. Other sources seem to say 20 MOA for this but just wondering if there's any reason to only do 10 or 0? Better to have it and not need it, right? I just want to make sure I'm not missing something on those other options.

I went with a 10 moa. I split the difference.

I would say 0 MOA. With 26 mils, you won't even use half of that at 1000 yards. If you have a good optic, no big deal at all.

I agree with MarkCO.
