I have my home loan thru Bank of America and my house was damaged by a hail storm a month or so ago. Anyway I need them to endorse my insurance check so I can pay the contractor who is doing my siding. I've called like 10 different numbers, talked to 1 human who transerred my to another automated voice service[Rant1] and now I'm on hold for the last 10 minutes. What kinda customer service leaves people searching and holding on a phone for 45 minutes. None of the local offices(yea there is no actual banks close to me according to their website) can endorse the check and I need to know where to mail it off to just so I can wait probably 2 weeks to have it signed and sent back[Rant2]

I called CS and waited and waited and waited to speak to someone other than a computer. Everytime I got a human they didnt speak fucking english[Rant1]. Finally got someone and they are telling me that since the check is over 10k that I have to mail it to them then they will issue another check to me for 10k and if I need more(which I will) that I have to call and ask for more and they will send an inspector out to see if work is being done(takes a week or more to get an inspector out) and they will send more money within 48hrs. That makes no since, they need to endorse my check period....this is a bank not an insurance company!! FUCK THEM

Try calling your insurance company, telling them you are having trouble, and asking them to just re-issue the check in your name only. I just had one of my insureds do this exact thing last week. It's worth a shot.

All the former countrywide offices are now BOA branches. There's one in the silver building, second floor, just west 1blk of fiddlers green. I make my payment there in person each month, so I know that there are reps there everyday.

Thanks for the info. I might just have to check into this if my insurance won't issue me another check.

Yeah, Bank of america was rated one of the lowest customer's service. I do not recall where I read it from at this time.

Now my damn insurance guy who issued the first check wont return my calls. I need to get the ball rollin' so I guess I will just have to play BOA's stupid little games[Bang]

$10 says your insurance guy will return your call long before you get anywhere with BOA. I wouldn't talk to the bank at all. They have no idea what is going on, are not an insurance company, and are not the ones doing the repair. Might as well be talking to a bum off the street and asking him what to do.

Except a bum on the side of the road might give you a reasonable answer.

lol.

Also, Opie, I understand that you need to talk to the bank in order to get the check co-signed. Sorry you're having such a difficult time with them. Like someone else suggested, I'd consider just going into your local branch and seeing what's up.

I have Wells Fargo and thought that it was giong to be a nightmare to get someone to sign the check, I walked in the front door talked to the first person sitting at a desk, and was out in 15 mins after a couple calls by him too confirm my loan and such, no biggie. He said that there have been a lot of these due to the crappy weather this summer.

I bet BOA is in the same boat. Screw talking on the phone, walk in the front door and go to the first person you see sitting at a desk and don't leave until you get what you want or the anwsers to your questions.

Good Luck

Jim

Im gonna have to send it in and play their little waiting game. I work with a guy who has BOA and he walked in and they signed his check but it was under 10k. He told me they wouldnt have signd it if it was over 10k....guess I just gotta deal with it.
