I've been to Montego Bay in Jamaica and it was quite a nice place but I want to try a new resort. Anyone have any recommendations they would like to share?

Barcelo Maya south of Cancun.
We have been 3 times and each time is better than the last.

I was quite impressed with El Dorado.

Kind of figured most of these Mexican ones were similar. We stayed in the casitas, which were awesome. Those new "seaside" lilly-pads look amazing.

Edit: We actually upgraded to Casitas for my buddy's wedding. It was pretty over the top, but the outdoor shower was cool.
Two showers, two tubs, an indoor and outdoor bed, and this guy named Jesus (pronounced the Christian way) brought us ice cream every day at 2.

I really want to go here!
San Alfonso del Mar is a private resort (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resort) in Algarrobo (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algarrobo,_Chile), Chile (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chile), has the largest pool in the world, or somewhere in Dubai, Bali, or Macau.

Either way im sure you'll have fun getting away!

The Verandah on Antigua was awesome. We went on a Groupon deal, and it was only about $900 all inclusive per person, 8 days/7 nights. We did airfare on points, so i don't remember what that cost.

If you are going as a couple (no kids or singles allowed), try http://www.sandals.com/ . All inclusive and you can pick from Jamaicam, Bahamas, St. Lucia, Antigua, Grenada, and Barbados.

We liked the Iberostar Cancun and Riviera Maya properties. We have also stayed at the Adventura Spa palace in Riviera Maya which is nice. It's hard to beat Mexico for all inclusive. If you want adventure, check out CostaRica.

BTW... I'll never go back to Jamaica.

I've heard of people not liking Jamaica, but have never been myself. Why didn't you like it?

My wife is a vacation consultant and would be happy to help you find a place that fits your needs. She has access to all of the same deals of the vacation sites out there except she provides excellent customer service and helps you personalize a vacation to your needs and desires. It also lets you support a local, second amendment supporting business. Tell her about your dream vacation and she'll find something in your budget. PM me for her contact info.

Just went to Riviera Maya about 2 months ago. Stayed at the Ocean Maya Royale just North of Playa Del Carmen. Had a great time but bring your own pillow or ask the front desk for new, BETTER ones.

We found ourselves mostly going to Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel but the resort was nice and the food was pretty good. Not to many beach vendors and the place was pristine...

When we do it again, we might do a couple of days in a Resort and then the rest down in Playa or Cozumel. I like being with the culture more than a sanitized resort with a bunch of Americans, Canadians and Europeans.

If you end up going, hit me up and I can give you some places to go and check out.
