Turns out a buddy of mine is up at Buckley for a couple days. Any recommendations on a decent place for dinner near Buckley or south? Preferably non-chain. I'd be driving up from the Springs so don't really want to go any further north.

Thanks, Bent Fork it is. Not really keen on a 90 minute drive but haven't seen him in years. He got me past the running requirement in ROTC and I got him past the academics so will be good to touch base again.

Mama Alvino's. NW corner of Colfax & Chambers. They got great calzones.

Heh, I went there all the time as a kid. One of the previous owners was a family friend.

Best calzones I've had. They also have homemade spaghetti.

Depends on what you are looking for, The Bent Fork is great for upscale casual, if you want a sports bar / pub Legends is (near Ililff 225) a little pricey but good. Mama Alvino's does not serve alcohol, for some of us that's a non starter.

Thanks, we had a great dinner and conversation at Bent Fork. I don't usually have burgers for dinner but the Buffalo Beer Cheese Burger was excellent.
