I have 4 dogs..2 about 16 pounds, 1 about 22 pounds and the Heeler puppy. They go through about 10 pounds of food per week. They produce about 40 pounds of recycled food per week. For crying out loud...I just did a poop patrol and you'd think we were raising cattle instead of little dogs. We have to stay on top of it every day or it just gets unmanageable.

So, how do you guys with BIG dogs (especially more than one) handle it?

Empty 50 lb dog food bag and several pairs of gloves...

The quality of their food is directly related to poop

110 pound Anatolian and 35 pound rescue...14 year old and 12 year old boys who have to work off groundings. 12 year old had to clean it all up today.

The better the food, the healthier the dog and the better the conversion rate. If a dog eats 10 pounds and poops 10 pounds, it will die.

In the words of Bill engvall, "I have the perfect dog, [s]he eats his own poop."

With all the property you moved up to. Does it really matter?
Neighbors have 2 english mastiffs. 50lbs food every 1.5 weeks. As mentioned the quality of food relates to qualtity and other aspects of their shit.

Put an advert up around town. HELP WANTED...... TOOTSIE ROLL PATROL NOW HIRING.

We feed our dogs high quality, gluten free, organic, free range, kosher, BPA free, blah, blah, blah food. They just poop a lot.

From some of the responses it sounds like we need a couple of slaves kids. Course, we'd have to feed them and they'd just poop... Hopefully not in the yard, though.

One thing I've noticed about the big dogs we've owned over the years is that while they may do quite a bit of pooping, except for a accident or two as puppies all that poopin' was done outside. Many small dogs I've known over the years never quite learn that they're not supposed to be poopin' INside.

Of course our large dogs have all been herding dogs (English Shepherds), thus quite a bit smarter than average, so maybe a dumb big dog would be a godawful mess.

We hire out the poop scooping. In the last 9 days, I have had to put both of my Siberians down. I'd rather have the poop

180 pounds of the best dog ever.
50 pounds of dog food a week and kids to pick up the piles.

I don't think the size of the dog makes much of a difference in the size of the poops. I know there are services that would gladly take your money to pick up the poop.

I've thought about picking up poop for cash, but I'd have to do it full time in order to make it worth while at all and still remain competitive.

We don't have that problem with our small dogs...all Jack Russell Terriers except for the cattle dog. Never had issues with Jacks...but they seem to be smarter than the average person. Course the cattle dog is a poopy puppy so there have been some incidents during house breaking.

:( I've got two of them myself, I can't imagine losing in that both that short of a time.

For the poop, it takes constant vigilance with multiple dogs. It was something my wife and I had to get used to when both her sons moved out.

Best thing I ever did was hire a service to come in twice a week and pick up. Stupidly cheap....

On a side note to some of y'all out there that are unemployed in Obama's America, a friend of mine found himself unemployed and started a little company scoopin' the poop and ended up making decent money at it until he found a job.

Sorry to hear it bud.

Who did you use for poo removal if I may ask?
