Current WIP. Hand forged 1084 approx 13''. Raised clip, distally tapered, birds head pommel. Will post more pics as it progresses.

Ya it is definitely a blast! If anyone has a good anvil they want to sell me cheap I'll take it! That's ONE of the things slowing me up! What you did there is very impressive! I am not that good.., it's definitely a lot of work but so cool watching yourself turn a hunk of metal into a useful tool!

Check Oleo Acres in Littleton, he gets used stuff fairly regularly. Finding old good anvils out here is tough. I scored a 200lb Trenton last year for $100.00 it's in pretty good shape actually. I use the larger anvil for most my roughing in and my 120lb for finish work.

ya that sounds like you got a pretty good deal.. its been a little while since I looked but when I was looking before every one I found they were asking way too much!

If you're only interested in basic bladesmithing for the time being I would get a 4x4 stake anvil from oldworldanvils.net. they'll cut them a bit taller as well. Thats what i started on.
