Hi all,
I just got the following message from the BSA Gateway District Commissioner (basically the JeffCO area). This is a 2 year old trailer with the district's event gear worth huge $$ and unknown number of years to collect. Please keep your eyes open for for it.

Why am I having deja vu? I feel like this exact thread was posted a while back.
Anyway, I will keep a lookout for it.
Probably already repainted and filled with landscaping shit.

Same thing happened to a troop in Aurora a few years back. The worse part is usually all the troop's camping gear is inside them !!!
That's messed up. I'm out on the road today. Look for it.

Here's an update I received this morning from BSA Denver Council:
Scouts and Scouters, Friends of Gateway and Webelos Weekend: It's been an interesting 48 hours. First we want to thank everyone that has spread the message of the theft of our Webelos Weekend Workhorse. We have started to get tips, countless messages of condolences, and many requests asking how people can help. Tons of folks are contacting us for support/donations to get things up and running in the next 30 days for our 40th anniversary Webelos Weekend. I wanted to pass on some good news, and an example of how the scouting community steps up to support its own. A gentleman contacted Ken Kinnard this morning after hearing about the theft on the news. As an Eagle Scout, he was appalled that someone would steal from the Scouting community, and wanted to help. He had found an identical trailer at a local dealer. When he explained what he was making the purchase for, the vendor adjusted the price to help our situation, at which point our benefactor wrote a check on the spot! The replacement trailer was delivered to Ken today at noon! We are still asking people to be on the lookout for the original Workhorse, and the items inside. It would be a small miracle to recover the equipment, but we have hope. However, we are also aware that we need to start working to replace the camp kitchen ourselves, so a GoFundMe campaign has been set up. Please visit https://www.gofundme.com/299ufv7y for status updates and to contribute to the efforts. Thank you for helping us replace 20 years of blood, sweat and love that made this super efficient kitchen, and the ability to feed more than 20,000 participants in the last 40 years. Visit the Gateway District Facebook page for updates, and pass around the GoFundMe information. While the theft was a blow to our program, we are proud to be part of a larger, supportive Scouting Community.
They've raised $5k in ONE day on the gofundme!!!! OUTSTANDING!!! Wow...

Do they have plans on how they will secure the new one, other than parking it at a storage facility?

Hopefully they'll learn this time.. and secure it.
