View Full Version : Hickenlooper VP?
In case you were wondering why Hickenlooper has done all these crazy things in Colorado despite a lot of the outrage, here's your answer:

Granted, Hillary needs the nod first and then he's "1 of 5" choices but this explains some things.

I heard his name thrown about as a possible VP a week or so ago. God help us.

Hey! He's cool! He makes beer. What a swell guy!
Upside is he'd be out of this state.

These rumors are actually about three years old.
Unlikely. My bet is Julian Castro - ex mayor of San Antonio and recently head of HUD

Downside is he'd infect the rest of the nation with his shit. I'd rather he stay here and we take one for the team.

Yup, or I can just get the hell out of dodge. Georgia is sounding pretty good (especially home prices), just not sure I can do the humidity, plus it's far from any family.

Where are you going to go? Where is the rule of law the priority of the state and local government? Where are private property rights still respected and defended?

Didn't read the second part of my comment? Actually keeping my options open at the moment. To say every state is exactly the same across the board is and ignorant assessment (perfect example, some states have make my day, some do not). My desire to leave Colorado is a combination of things, not all of which are political in nature.

I get what you're saying. But, trust me...some states are WAY better than Colorado. In a lot of ways.

You were the first person I thought of to use as an example, but figured I'd leave ya out of it lol.
I agree that some states are still a lot better than Colorado for various reasons but the way this agenda is going, how long until we're out of states to go to?

Don't know the answer to that one. But, at 55 I'm more on the way out than on the way in. I don't see things changing here drastically before I'm gone. I feel sorry for my kids and yours, though. It's pretty sad if you think about it. A few more generations and they won't even know what the "old country" was like. This new way of life will be the norm and they won't have anything to compare it to. Maybe that's a good thing, though...because remembering what the country was like when I was growing up and seeing what it is now is pretty depressing.

I have no kids and no plans to have any and I have gotten to the point where I just dont care what happens in the future any more. As long as I can find a state where I can live decent for the next 30 years or so till I die I am fine with that. If these kids these days want to destroy their future country that is their problem.

I used to have the same plan and thought process, then I had kids... I may have been completely happy and content without kids, but now that I have kids, I'm much happier. Sorry for the derail...

About the only thing I could support him for would be a chance to participate in the special olympics, I could support his run for that.

Google (or Bing,DuckDuckGo, Etc.) the following: "demographic shift in the United States". I'd post a single link but everyone has their trusted source and I'm sure I'd run afoul of someone so pick your favorite link from the list that search will yield.

I am 44, will not be having kids at this point. Will not be "grandpa" at my kids graduation. That and i seriously do not like kids, can barely handle a dog.

Not only did I not like kids before I had them, I hated them, now I love'em. With that said, I don't know that I'd have kids at 44 either. Not trying to convince you, just friendly conversation, and pointing out how I went from one extreme to the other.

Just convinced the wife to add Phoenix to the list of possibilities, now to do some research and comparing. I'd much prefer Flagstaff or Prescott, but my Job can't take me there.
At some point, and it looks like the timeline is getting pretty short, all urban centers will be on the liberal path/decline regardless of state. Those who cling to guns, or God, or integrity, or free market or, maybe a little later, even libertarian principles, will be the scourge of the urban centers. The only hope is that it goes slow enough that those people can figure out how to get out before rock bottom comes. Then the rats in the cities can tear each other apart and a new start might be an option...but I doubt it.
