View Full Version : You're familiar with the Amber Alert, but how about the others?
Yesterday I saw a "Senior Alert" on the CDOT sign on I-25. I wondered what the hell that was, and remembered to look it up today. Apparently, there are a lot of different "alerts," but they must be pretty rare because I had never heard of any of them.
Here is a link to the Senior Alert page on the CBI page, you can see the rest of them in the navigation bar on the left.

Looks like there are the Amber Alert
Blue Alert
Developmental Disabilities Alert
Medina Alert
News/Media Alert
Senior Alert
And now you know.
I've had BOLOS for seniors/mentally disabled folks on the radio, but have never had one of those obnoxious phone alerts for anything other than an Amber.

My wife used to work in an assisted living center and said it was fairly common for seniors (mainly Alzheimer's and dementia patients) to walk off and wind up on a street corner somewhere, or at a random house.

That sounds pretty common. This one said the guy's age, what kind of car he was driving, and the plate number. Given the information, it didn't occur to me that he was missing. At one point I even considered that they were trying to warn the public of a senior driver, haha.
Anyway, I hope they found him.

When I get old I'm going to run away from the nursing home every chance I get. Just to see how far I can make it before they catch me.
Isn't it the Blue Hair alert and isn't that the same as the senior alert?
P.S.
I want to jam an icepick in my ear every time I hear a 9news self promotional spot telling me what to think when I see a color.

What are you talking about? I haven't heard it. Think you can find an example on Youtube?

What do I do if I think I'm missing ?
What do I do if I think I'm missing ?
I think that would fall under the Senior Alert system.
