I think it's becoming more and more obvious "education" doesn't mean educated. But I won't get on my soapbox and spoil the thread.

Maybe they should ban hot springs, thermal vents, and geysers? It's for the educated children and if it only saves one life.

What a way to go.

The rules don't apply to me. Sadly, it's more the norm.

Summa cum laude these days only means he drank the leftist Kool-Aid more deeply than others and can (or could) regurgitate their agitprop without laughing.

from the other thread

im sure the guy was good at the internet though.

since if you dont know about the latest technology for the minute that it is relevant you are deprived.

I'll bet that antiquated national park didn't even have cell service so he could've looked up whether swimming in 199F acid was safe

Wow. A summa cum laude graduate who went 225 yds off a safety boardwalk gets boiled in a hot springs. I'm sure there is a lawsuit cooking somewhere blaming others for this smart guy's lack of common sense.

I didn't graduate summa, but when I visited Yellowstone years later I sure knew to stay on the boardwalk and knew damn well to stay away from any other natural, small chemical-pots that weren't specially designated (the colors were awesome! But the steam/vapors sure signaled to anyone with a brain to stay well away)

What you guys are not seeing here, concerning his intellect, was that he was TOO smart for his own good. He was so smart that he knew more than the geologists, park rangers and even a thermometer. When you're this intelligent, you push boundaries...

I've witnessed so much stupidity every time I visit any national park, but Yellowstone definitely attracts the people lower on the intelligence scale.

I wish the guy filming this would of caught the impact of elk vs stupid lady.

I was actually at Yellowstone this week with my family. We were even at the same area as this guy the same day. The lack of common sense witnessed this trip, as well as every other time I've been there (more than 15) is utterly astounding. Off boardwalk (not as common), 5 ft from elk, bison, bears, etc.

I find myself rooting for Darwin more these last few years.

With the amount of stupid in our society, I am surprised that the rate of Darwin awards is not higher.
