View Full Version : Monky Wards Range Hood
So, the house I just moved into has an old Montgomery Wards Range Hood.. It doesn't vent to the outside, just sucks air through a filter. Problem is there is no filter. If memory serves, the filters were like spun steel scrubbers. It measures about 11x11.
Google isn't much help. Does anyone know of a shop that deals with old parts like this? Where can I get "scrubby" material in rolls?

Don't make fun of the dirty nasty vent. It's getting cleaned in the very near future.

For that hard grease we use scrubbing bubbles. Make sure there's lots of newspapers and paper towels under it. It may sound weird for those who never had to scrape grease off metal but............... I suggest a heat gun. Less time to clean it, means more time for that cold beverage you deserve afterward.
Your Google is better than mine. [Coffee]
Newspaper? I'm using visquine and industrial degreasers.

Found one at Air Filter Co.
Thanks!
I'd go for a new one. Better lights, quiet fans, looks nice and fairly cheap!

If it were my house, I'd do a full kit. remodel. Probably going to be here for just a year.
