So the Ds have been whining about having the conversation again and the Rs have agreed to listen to something next week. Trump is wanting to meet with the NRA today Friday June 17th and discuss the Terror Watch List and No Fly List people being added to the Federal Background Check prohibited list.

I assume the NRA will educate Trump on why those two lists are dangerous even though their names make it sound logical at first glance.

Question is, what actual legislation is being considered next week at the federal level?

Should we bother writing our elected officials again or does that just get us on the list of people for the feds to visit when the time comes?

Any updates on the Trump/NRA visit or legislation please update.

Hopefully we are not the point that contacting our elected officials will result in government reprisals.

I believe the NRA has already caved on this. What they are asking for is due process and appeal rights, which I agree need to be part of the plan, BUT they are giving FedGov a huge opportunity to abuse gun owners with undefined criteria to get on/off that list.

This is the same admin who said white, Christian, Conservative, vets are terrorists and represent the biggest threat to America. Is someone who says "we should have less government" just as eligible for the list as someone with ties to ISIS who has traveled to the Middle East?

I believe UBGCs will also be given up. There's too much pressure to keep guns out of the wrong hands and close the loophole. Of course it's foolish to believe that is the end point.

Considering you now can declare yourself a part of a minority group at a moments notice I think tomorrow I will be Native American. Tuesday will be Hispanic. Wednesday Japanese. Thursday disabled. Friday will be senior. Saterday black. Sunday Aboriginy. By Sunday I will have to figure out what I will morph into each day of the following week.

I mean why not...people do it with becoming gay...should work that way with every other minority as well.

Would the letters/phone calls/petitions have about the same amount of impact as they did when many of us wrote/called/emailed our Colorado politicians back in 2013?

I wrote then and I wrote again today, I also wrote when the last round of anti gun stuff died at the federal level after Sandy Hook. Keeping fingers crossed.

I've been checking off Native American.. HEY! i was born in this country too.

EVEN BETTER.. I've been using woman's rest rooms. Fuk it. I declared myself multi-gendered. Everyone else has some (as mentioned) classification.

Or will we be charged under Section 2 of the Sedition Act?

SECTION II. Punishes seditious writings.1. Then again,upon reading this part, it seems the current administration is culpable.
