So, a while ago I purchased a bunch of 150 gr 308 bullets from Xtreme bullets.
http://www.xtremebullets.com/308-150-FP-p/xc308-150fp-b0500.htm
Great deal, about 10c x bullet, 500 for $51!!!
Unfortunately, as I later found out, they are meant for 30-30, and at 308 velocities shred the thin jacket and are pathetically inaccurate.
My M1A shoots<than 1 MOA with Sierra Matchking 175 gr, so it is neither the rifle nor the shooter.
The Xtreme bullets will maybe hold 5-6 MOA even cutting down the powder charge to the minimum listed, 40gr of IMR 2831.
Needles to say, being the rifle a semi, it needs to be able to cycle the action, so I can only go down in charge so much.
Of course, I know we are comparing potatoes to apples, but could anybody suggest a bullet source that will hold within 2MOA without doubling my $ per bullet?
