http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/06/22/journalist-neil-steinberg-tries-show-how-easy-it-buy-ar-15-fails-background-check

Following the Orlando terror attack, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Neil Steinberg wanted to demonstrate how easy it is to obtain an AR-15 in Illinois.Steinberg's application for the weapon was rejected (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/columnist-fails-gun-check-blames-store-owners/article/2594417), however, after a background check revealed his "admitted history of alcohol abuse, and a charge for domestic battery involving his wife."
In his column (http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/steinberg-would-be-terrorists-can-buy-guns-but-a-reporter-no/), Steinberg claims that Maxon Shooter's Supplies, in Des Plaines, Ill., rejected his application because he's in the media.

The owners of the gun store disagreed and said that the background check raised multiple red flags, including his history of alcohol abuse and domestic violence.

Cool. An alcoholic wife-beating liberal twat was prevented from buying a gun. The system works.

Everyone at work just looked at me because I belted out a huge laugh at this.

So is there supposed to be any type of follow up or legal repercussion when a criminal/ wife beater tries to buy a gun?
I know there are like 4000 gun laws not enforced, so serious question.

I was wondering the same thing. Shouldn't he be charged as a prohibited person attempting to buy a gun?

18 USC 922 (g)(9):

It shall be unlawful for any person—...who has been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence,

to ship or transport in interstate or foreign commerce, or possess in or affecting commerce, any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.

Yep. But is that how he reported it? Did he tell the truth about the outcome of his application?

I didn't read this link yet, but I read the story on another forum. Seems I recall he twisted the truth around to suit his agenda - but, journalists never do that.....only truth and honesty!
