I've got a Dan Wesson 14-2 that currently wear a wonderful set of grips made by LB Custom Grips (http://lbcustomgrips.com/) (in fact mine are the prototype for his "Speed Grip" (http://lbcustomgrips.com/grips/speed-grip/) he sent them to me since the design arose from a discussion we had on the Dan Wesson forum).

The grips are beautiful, made from Black Cherry wood (which looks nothing like it sounds) and I love the feel of them and the angle of them.

BUT I don't like to carry the gun with them on there because, well they're slicker than snot on a glass doorknob. Dry they slide around in the hand and if you sweat even the slightest bit the gun all but jumps out of your hand.

I've considered sending them off to be checkered or engraved but frankly that would cost too much (at one point I'd even contacted argonstrom after seeing his SIG grips (https://www.ar-15.co/threads/153210-Engraved-SIG-Grips), but the wife threatened me with a long run on the couch if I spent what he was asking ... which frankly was a better than reasonable price ... but alas).

So I finally broke down and grabbed my all-purpose firearm bubbification device (aka Dremmel) and went to town.

Getting a smooth line at the edge of the stippling was difficult, but the stippling itself was pretty easy. They feel great in the hand and my grip now feels very solid and I don't think the stippling took away from the beauty of the grips ... at least not too much.

It kind of looks like it's wearing a nylon. In the photo at least.

HA it does ... well for quite a while I had a hunk of bicycle inner tube on there so the nylon looks better :p

Nice job! How can I contact the guy that did the Sig grips? It looks like he was banned. Was he ripping guys off?

No he wasn't. If he was banned, it is likely temporary for an entirely different reason than any integrity issues.

Had no idea argonstrom had been banned. Only knew he wasn't on these forums much these days.

Whatever the reason it has nothing to do with the quality of his work or his integrity. I've had him do other work for me and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Out of deference to the admins I won't link directly to his site (because I don't know what went down with him to get him banned) but if you add .com to his name that's his web site.

That looks really good actually. I saw stippled and wood and figured I'd see a burned mess.

He hooked me up and lives in my hood. Small world. Thanks.
