View Full Version : Trouble with "EDIT POST" Function

Anyone else having trouble using the edit feature to modify a post? The last several times I've clicked on the "EDIT" button the dialog box opens but there's nothing in it. Doing anything other than canceling the edit (or backing out) causes the original post to be wiped out. Just wondering if it's an issue with others or if there's something wrong with my computer.

ETA: Well...it seems to be working in Chrome. I'm using Firefox as my normal browser.

I think fitz19d was having trouble the other day. Might try a different browser.

Edited OP in Chrome. Working fine. Firefox seems to be having the issue.

very interesting - i've cleared cookies in firefox and chrome multiple times then rebooted and neither presents any data in the EDIT window for my original post after clearing cookies and rebooting - i can edit secondary posts just fine

i tried microsoft edge and get the same thing

I get the same problem editing members posts who've pasted in a quote from another site. I'm using Safari.

Wonder if there's a V bulletin update out there. I get the same thing every now and then using safari as well.

I think it's more of a browser glitch than a vBulletin thing.

I have tried to edit posts using Firefox, Chrome, and MS Edge - my original text does not appear in the editor window.

OK I fixed my post. There must have been an anomaly when I originated my post and it was saved to the database.

How I fixed my post.

1. I did a control-a (select all contents) and delete
2. I typed in test just to see if my experiment worked and it did.
3. I edited my post that said 'test' and replaced the text with new text pertaining to my subject in the title.
4. I saved it and bumped my post to the top since it is a such a cool topic and stuff.
5. I re-opened my post and clicked 'edit' and it was all there. :)
