Any central Air Conditioner experts on the forum? Asking here before I call Northglenn Heating & Air,
Won't run or will but only for a minute. Fuses are all okay, unit is clean. The housing was hot above the fan motor. Fan motor wasn't running.

Man, it's been one thing after another lately.

More than likely a bad fan motor and or capacitor. Compressor going out on thermal overload due to the fan not running and compressor getting too hot and high pressures.

Yup.... Capacitor most likely. I've been flying through them.

I replaced the capacitor in mine & then the main switch. Went without a/c all summer last year & the first month or so of hot weather this year. It was miserable & I'm extremely thankful to have working a/c this year.

I had a capacitor in the AC unit and one in the furnace for the blower motor both go south at the same time I guess.
HiClassWhiteTrash got me all fixed up.
