The weapon associated with the January 2016 shooting of an off-duty Jefferson County sheriff's deputy is seen with a bullet lodged near the barrel. It was determined that one of the shots that Deputy Marquez fired from his .45 caliber handgun actually hit Meshesha’s .40 caliber handgun and traveled down the barrel. I'd be like: "I meant to do that."
Pretty cool.

And please note that the slide was not blown out from the frame...
And it is a polymer frame (I believe THIS puts the old debate steel frame is better than polymer frame to rest).
Got I like my XDM!
So what's his new nickname? Boresnake?

With a rather tight squeeze.
This is amazing, I kind of want to get a junker pistol and try to make that shot.

Do NOT try this at home. Or at any range that I may be at.
Thank you.
I think Mythbusters did a show on this type of thing once. I think it's was with two .22lr revolvers. It took them a while to get things aligned perfectly, even while using lasers.

I think there is some old worn out .22's floating around. If you can THAT shot with a 45 I will be impressed.

Why not just get a pipe w/ the inner diameter of your fictitious criminal's pistol caliber and do so without shooting at a gun? or just draw a got on a piece of paper of X size and try to punch it clean

You're not going to get any Internet money shooting a piece of paper.

Can go one better, I have a Lorcin 9mm in my safe. Not really a spare, but I'm not attached to it beyond it being the first pistol I bought when I was 21.

Group Straw Purchase?
Lol. Obviously it would belong to Izzy and 00 and I would just take a couple of shots at it.
Do they have any facility to jointly buy a firearm for couples? I know 00 is married but we might be able to 4 or 5 way gay marry and pick one up.

That's a shot Carlos Hathcock would be impressed with...

Is it really a straw purchase if everyone is going to own an equal share of the firearm?

Depends. If someone gets injured and everyone rushes in to accept equal shares of liability, then perhaps not. :p
Wow! I hope they let that cop keep that gun as a souvenier, he earned it!

See! They just need to train the cops to disable criminals guns like that and no one would get hurt...
Interesting thing to see in real life. It's extremely common in force on force scenarios for people to get their hands/guns shot up (people tend to focus on the threat).
I hope the deputy gets back to 100%.

I know a guy in Denver who can buy us one, he only charges $50...........

So, everyone gets the same amount of time working to dig the hole. Sounds fair.
Who's bringing the bag of lime?
Last night on Ch. 4 I saw an interview with retired DPD detective and firearms instructor Rob Rathburn talk up how the deputy's training came in to play. Good consistent training. I tried to find it on the station's website but it wasn't there yet. Rob also reiterated the point how in testimony it'll be more definitive to show the suspect was indeed pointing the gun at the deputy.
I know of a case years ago when a suspect pointed a shotgun at the members of the swat team during a barricade, an officer returned fire wtih two rounds going down the barrel of the shotgun! It does happen, just like folks winning the powerball :D.
hahah I didn't mean that someone would actually be holding the pistol... unless there is a volunteer
